Lost Dragons is a multiplayer total modification aiming to bring out a new thrilling gamemode for Arma3 . Our concept is futuristic objective based team warfare with randomly generated map elements to ensure every game is a unique experience with completely new set of units, weapons, structures and terrain.
Yesterday I was talking with my brother about how cool monorail transit system would be on the map. I had a bit goofy idea that was "bulletproof" but in reality would not have been feasible.
Anyhow the discussion ended into the idea of using the new physX car simulation to create a traincart and set it on a rail. The concept was fine and I eagerly set to try it out.
Heres a short demo on how it ended up working!

Currently I have achieved speed of a bit over 100km/h but the accelaration is a bit slow. Im hoping to tweak it so that it can go above that and accelerate better.
Id like to think lore vise that the monorail transit was much used back in the day when the planet was inhabited and operational. There will be at least four circular transit lines on the outer rim of the complex and straight ones between the outer rim and the center. The rails and trains will also be in random condition on each play time.
As a little update, I did tweak the config so that the train has enough engine power to overcome the little bumbing with the track and it can now go just about any speed we decided to set it to go.
300km/h was hilarious :D but I think somewhere along 120 will be sufficient max speed.
