I've never heard anything like that before ! Wished bohemia had done the same with their own vehicles... that black windowed vision personnaly make tanks unplayable to me.

Indeed the vanilla tanks could use interior models. But it does take a lot of time to produce even one even if you had technical blueprints to reference to.

But now that I think of it, they might have trouble getting legit reference images to work with for modern tanks since it would probably mean licensing them (would cost even more) in oppose of the exterior models that can be completed by just reference images all over the net.

Or maybe not..

BUT we aim to have interior models AND hopfully full internal designs for all our vehicles. Some of the internals will probably never be seen, but it is important I think to be able to show that the parts are there and this is how it works.

Ammo capacity is one fancy details for instance that comes out of this. I have counted that the rear ammo stores + the belt feed houses 160x 10x30mm solid gauss shots.

Have not yet done the same for the minigun rounds but A) it will be a lot more, B) If needed I can make extended ammo storage to fit even more.

It is possible that certains military vehicles are subject to some kind of secrecy regarding their constitution and that would be legit. However I believe bohemia actually works with experts which aims are to provide the most realistic combat experience at least in terms of shooting...
Maybe they could just create a generic tank interior from what you would expect to have inside... And for Arma 3 those are not even real machines (yeah even if they're heavily inspired from real tanks), so they could have imagined an original design...

Btw I think you are taking a very long and tricky way to design your vehicles... But it will eventually bring the most realistic machines as possible, and I like that. I personnaly think the best sci-fi books are those written by actual physicians and scientists that could really explain how the technologies they depict would work in the future (see Alastair Reynolds) and this is what makes them the most exciting !

Description

Just a tiny little upgrade on the walker design. This time slight adjustments to fit in full interior components and the works.

Basically this means that Im modeling all the inner pieces that make the walker dance and adjust the overall design when something does not fit. Like with the ammo feed I needed to do little resizing with the shoulders and arms to fit it in and still have enough armor on them so they don't just fall off.

This really is how we want our design process to be in general, so that the vehicles and machines we make can actually fit in the parts/weapons/gadgets they are built from

This also allows us to make cool props for our map. Like a Walker factory with partially completed vehicles dusting away and such. Also This makes good base for damage/hitbox design since we actually have all the stuff in there and can then place hitboxes and armor accordingly.

The interior modeling is going to take some more time so Im going to piece together a working unit from the adjusted exterior mesh so that WK-209 does not miss the next release. :D
