Being in development since 2009, LNGA began as a Duke Nukem 3D mod (total conversion) based on EDuke32. Using 8-bit visuals, it aims to introduce new techniques such as HDR rendering and dynamic lighting, as well as better sound, physics and more complex game mechanics.
Whilst EDuke32 has got a support of modern graphic features owing to the Polymer renderer, I decided to make a mod giving a new life to the good ol' 8-bit mode. However, EDuke32 capabilities didn't satisfy me anymore, so I started moving the mod to my new engine, throw away Duke3D content and make totally original games.
