General Synopsis

The Last Great War is a realistic first person shooter using the Half-Life 2 Engine. Over the progress of the mod we will be adding additional content. At first we will feature the Pacific Theatre of Operations with Americans vs. Japanese soldiers. Later on the mod will feature British and Australian teams as well.
The mod will feature lush and well planned out maps that will be in the pacific theatre such as Iwo Jima, Tarawa, Manila and guadal canal.

It has been a very long time since LGW has had a media update. Some of you probably thought that the mod was dead. Well I am here to say that we are far from it.
Our staff at LGW is pumping out work everyday. At the moment the team is going to start our testing process and we promise you ingame screenshots soon.

Damn I actualy thought this mod would have gone somewhere, goh I remember back in the day when this was a JA mod and I was on the team!! goh that was years ago...

I was trolling their forums before they went down. Nobody was givin up much info.

I did read one post before their site went that did say that various leads had buggered off, other members were trying to push another direction and the remaining leads were going to start up a new mod. So I dont think they will be coming back even on a new engine.
Its also crazy to think that they spent so long in development for HL2 that it took them 3 - 4 years to figure out it didnt meet their needs. If jungle environments were too hard to get workin why did they move From the European Front or Eastern Front. Look at what all the HL2 mods are doing its more than capable, I'd say the team just bombed out in traditional mod style.
RNL & INS all the way at least after 2-3 years of Dev they actually have somethin.
Sorry to say, LGW is dead now, and the core developers have moved on to possibly bring the mod back on an engine that can handle its needs.

Wow, I thought it was impossible to create a decent, FPS friendly forest in Source, but you've proved me wrong and did made it more than decent. In fact, it's amazing! Your forest map looks amazing. And when I thought you couldn't create such a sexy destroyed city, you did it too! The mapping is amazing, the model's, and especially their skins, are to die for! I'm loving the mod. Can't wait for it! *WATCH*

Sounds great, gameplay over all else is the way to go! It is also good that you are adding other counties as well as america. Also like how ur doing the pacific theatre instead of europe which has been done many times before.
