'Lo, Here we will be taking a first look at the Kingdom of Prussia, starting with the Infantry of the Line.
First a little history. Although Prussia had been a major European power in the 18th century, by the Napoleonic-era its army had been stagnating since the death of Frederick the Great. Come the War of the Fourth Coalition in 1806-07, the Prussian army was so hopelessly outdated it was simply humiliated by the modern French armies and forced to sign a debilitating treaty that cost Prussia half her territory and plunged the kingdom into crippling debt.
The year is now 1809, and Prussia is still reeling from its defeat in 1807 and has not joined the Fifth Coalition. Prussia is, however, undergoing a major reformation of its army, both in its organisation and its uniforms.
Now for what I assume you all came for; screenshots! Here you will see Prussian Musketeers, Grenadiers and the Foot-Guard. All in their new 1808-09 issued uniforms.
This is all for now. Thanks for reading!
Expect Prussian Cavalry soon.
