Kudia: Darkest Hour is a Battlefield 2 mod set on the planet of Kudia, a world of human conflict parallel to our own. It is the scene of a great struggle between four superpowers, in two enourmous alliances; one fighting for greed and the other for survival. With a wide range of technologies used by these nations, the Kudian battlefield is a varied one.
The mod takes place in the hi-tech future of the story. The Lonzu Nationalism Pact, subdued into peace by their old foes the Northern Alliance, have broken their ceasefire with a treacherous massacre. The NA, consisting of the Republic of Arkonia and the Romanum Empire, find themselves once more up against their old enemies; the Mungol Dominion and Democratic States of Chinton. Surrounded, the devious LNP begin a new kind of warfare unseen on Kudia; inciting fear, covertly striking and causing havoc across the world. The Northern Alliance is now fighting a war against terrorists.
From the elite paratroopers of Communist Arkonia to the conscripted peasant tank crew of the Mungols, Kudia: Darkest Hour will feature dozens of hi-tech and retro-tech hardware from each of the four superpowers. The setting will depict different aspects of combat across all kinds of maps, some with unique objectives.
In anticipation of the mod, we are releasing the map 'Battle for Alexandria'; an infantry-based map set many years before, in the modern age. The map will come in the form of a mini mod and may include unique vehicles or weapons. Illustrating the final stages of a struggle for a mighty city that has been besieged by the LNP for over a century, it is designed for close quarters battle. Within the twisting ruins, firefights errupt and snipers are rife. Dark and insidious forces are close to crushing this stalwart NA outpost, but the fate of the city is yet to be decided on the battlefield.
Hi, It's been a busy month for us as we've stepped into full-on production. Since the last update we've been joined by a new modeler, Phil, who's been hard at work on the damaged flats and market place models for us.
The art team has been busy, producing several new models - including a small Arkonese guard hut, and damaged walls. We now have several small buildings and damaged houses; and the Train Bridge has been finished and textured. On the concept art side of things we've now got some propaganda posters for the different armies, which may turn up on the odd wall in game.
Level design has stepped up in the last month, with several maps in production that describe key battles in the history of Kudia. Our main map is the battle for Alexandria; an urban combat mission in one of the most battle-scarred cities in Arkonese territory. We have two secondary maps planned, one of which is the battle of Kuljur Lake; a historically disastrous battle in the tropical marshy bog in central Vie-Lam.
Finally; we've got more content coming in the next few months, including level screenshots and some more renders from the art team. We also have a small video sequence in the works which should hopefully set the scene for the whole mod. The site is due for re-design in the next few days too, so look out for that! In the mean time were still hiring modellers and texturers so if you're interested feel free to contact us!
Thanks for your interest and we hope you'll all stop back often.
