Knights and Barbarians- total conversion for Age of Empires III. Detail. Innovation. Quality.
The Army Grows
What's going on with K&B. What's planned. What you want to know. Posted by General_II on Apr 19th, 2008 digg this super bookmark To start off, I'm pleased to announce that Spangopola and Cicero are the newest additions to the K&B developer group. Spangopola is our third concept design artist and is currently working with the eastern factions like the Mongols. Cicero is our resident concept designer and has accepted the task of fleshing out the civilizations. Both are working extremely well in providing new content and ideas. I think this finalizes that K&B has the largest design team of any AoE3 mod. Three civilizations are in the finishing design stages, which is quite a task considering each civilizations plays differently and has a great number of unique units, buildings, and technologies. Also, one of our concept artists, Markss, is working with the mod "The Ancient Age." Be sure to check it out at Age of Empires III Heaven or moddb.
Texturing is coming along well with the units (no, they are still extremely shy and won't be in the gallery yet) and we hope to show off some finished products in the coming months in addition to some surprising announcements. Modification is also being done to terrain -flora and fauna- to make it more appropriately continental. Here's a screenshot of some preliminary work:

nice, they look very... autumn...
maybe the colours are a little exaggerated,
but good on the eyes, though.
I probably don't need to say this since you guys seem to have good organisational skills, but be careful to manage everyone on your team, especially since you have such a large team. not saying you should breathe down their backs or anything - it's probably best if you didn't. but well, it's common sense, anyway.
anyway, good luck!
more!more!more! :)
Thanks for your comments. The development team is somewhat regulated, but each person can, for the most part, focus on a specific thing as long as they report it and show progress. When we completely finish the designs in the near future, the amount of progress should increase as the team does something like work on each faction at a time.
