Knights and Barbarians is a total conversion for Age of Empires III and both its expansions. Command armies from one of fourteen medieval powers in detailed, intense battles to defend or expand your kingdom. The timeline of Knights and Barbarians stretches from the twilight of the Roman Empire to the infancy of the Italian Renaissance. New content includes unique gameplay mechanics, units, factions, maps, music, and much more.
Description
First version of Knights and Barbarians, the Prologue! Includes a lot of new content and pretty much medievalizes Age of Empires III completely. Please note that there are some balance issues but we aim to patch them as fast as possible. Notes: - You need Vanilla+TWC+TAD (Patch 1.03) - In case you downloaded the file before 2nd of April, I suggest to redownload and reinstall the files. Sorry for the inconvenience.

How do you start it up
It replaces Asian Dinasties, so just use the shortcut that you used for playing TAD.

how do u install this
The game graphics and new building and all new techs are very good. But the game has some performance issue. It starts perfectly fine, runs smoothly the suddenly stuck in between and after few seconds again runs smoothly. This is a big problem in a strategy game like AOE where one wrong click can destroy your army.
There is a patch for that problem already. ;) Dropbox.com
There are also lots of balance problems which we'll hopefully get fixed. Schools and vacations really limit our modding time and motivation, unfortunately.

Download this (http://www.dlldll.com/rockalldll.dll_download.html) and place it into your Aoe3 folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Age of Empires 3), it should help.
Ok, that helped, but only to a certain extent. After downloading a number of .dll files, it now claims that "GrannyFixupFileSectionat12 cannot be reached." I've looked this up and tried to find downloads, but to no avail.
Hmm, you might want to try asking help on some Aoe3 forum, that's as much as I can help.

If I install this mod, can I still continue playing The Asian Dynasties vanilla?
When i downloaded this it gave me only 4 civilizations but there were 2 of each of the 4 it gave me. Redownloading now
