JA2 1.13 Mod (Named as such because it's an unofficial upgrade to JA2 GOLD version 1.12) is an enhancement to the game engine for Jagged Alliance 2. It's a community project and has been in an Open Beta phase since June of 2005, with new updates being released regularly through our public SVN. We also have official releases that are downloadable Install packages every few months (Which will be posted here as they become available). Key features can be read by going to the homepage or the wiki, but here is a rundown: The AI has been vastly improved, and a new difficulty level, INSANE, was added. Enemies will now lay down suppression fire to make your mercs drop to the floor and waste AP's. They'll flank you, and they will set up sniping positions complete with spotters and they'll even climb on the roof tops to come after you. After 6 months with nothing but small community patches and mini-mods (most of which we have incorporated into the full release) I'm pleased to announce that the June 2006 release version 306 of the 1.13 Engine MOD for JA2 is available for download from the homepage.

The Install packages have not been rebuilt for distribution yet, still waiting on those, but we wanted to go ahead and release the new version a few days earlier anyway.

The new features are far too many to list, and we're already working on a patch to bring in some more and squash some last minute bugs.

Also, while this release will definitely be worth the wait, we've decided to revert back to 4-6wk smaller releases in the future. And we've got a ton of features on the list to keep updated coming for the forseeable future!

I see noone bothered to comment this. Well, as an old JA geezer, I'll do it ;)

First of all, I was playing the 1.13 mod a few months ago, but there weren't all these cool features (weather, yeah!), however it was really cool to play it the way it was. There was a bug with high-res in Meduna (Tanks->CTD), I hope you fixed it :)

1.13 mod must've been even better now :D too bad I got no time right now for it... But one day...

I beleive we caught that one, along with around 20 other freeze/hang/ctd causing glitches. There are still some out there I assure you, but we'll catch them as we find them, and release hot-fixes this time around instead of hoarding all the featurefilled goodness for ourselves :p
