So far I have been working on mods the last... four months (Perhaps less) and I have created three mods. In my last mod (Danish Viking Units) I challenged myself with starting working on 3D models and texturing. Now after that mod is done I wanted to start a big project which I decided to be Iron Hill Dwarves from the movie The Hobbit 3: Battle of the five armies. To you guys who just LOVE the Tolkien Universe or just LOVE The Hobbit I am sorry, but this mod is not going to be 100% accurate at all. This mod is going to cotain some models and textures that I have created and thought would look cool (This means that weapons) I have done some research when it comes to Iron Hill Dwarves gear. Some of it easy to find and some of it... Impossible. (Which means I have created the model 100% without anything) The armor parts is going to be as accurate as possible.
The basic infantry swordsmen wearing shield and sword. (I am starting to think the shield is a bit to big...)
So far I have made seven "different" soldier types.
Dwarven King
Dwarven guardsmen (Infantry Unit)
Dwarven Spearmen (Infantry unit)
Dwarven Swordsmen (Infantry unit)
Dwarven Artillery (Artillery unit)
Dwarven Commander (commander unit)
And
Dwarven Miner (Infantry unit)
I might change around the gear they have and such things. I know they look very much like each other, but if we look at the Iron Hill dwarves in The hobbit 3 all the soldiers look like each other. (Except Dain)
What about mixing swordmen and axemen in he same unit and simply name them Dwarven Infantry ? Beside why choosing Dwarven instead of Iron Hill Spearmen etc or Iron Dwarf Spearmen etc.
Good question...
Well the sword and axe thing is because I wanted to make a lot of units. xD So people really could feel this mod.
The "Dwarven" name was because I kinda felt Iron Hill started to sound like a specific class. Like Iron Hill Swordsmen, but you are right about it. This is Iron Hill mod. :)
Excellent progress so far your Dwarves look really good.
Thanks mate.
