So far I have been working on mods the last... four months (Perhaps less) and I have created three mods. In my last mod (Danish Viking Units) I challenged myself with starting working on 3D models and texturing. Now after that mod is done I wanted to start a big project which I decided to be Iron Hill Dwarves from the movie The Hobbit 3: Battle of the five armies. To you guys who just LOVE the Tolkien Universe or just LOVE The Hobbit I am sorry, but this mod is not going to be 100% accurate at all. This mod is going to cotain some models and textures that I have created and thought would look cool (This means that weapons) I have done some research when it comes to Iron Hill Dwarves gear. Some of it easy to find and some of it... Impossible. (Which means I have created the model 100% without anything) The armor parts is going to be as accurate as possible.

Alright the time has finally come I am really, really nervous, but so far you guys have been absolutely amazing with your support and your ideas. Through out the whole adventure of this mod I have tried and make you guys feel like you could always just write or give me suggestions for the mod.

Really I am really proud having you guys as community for this mod. I haven't seen any bad comments. People being rude towards each other (I know I am jinxing it right now) So thanks a lot.
Just as one of the last things I would like to tell what this mod does 100% because I am still getting this question.

This mod changes Arverni into Iron Hill Dwarves. I have changed the faction name and banners. I have deleted all the normal gallic units in Arverni and replaced them with Dwarves. Custom made dwarves with 3D models I have made.
I have then changed the generals of Arverni into dwarves. Sounds easy, but apparently it wasen't.

Right now I don't know if I am going to add more stuff to the mod the future will tell. Of course you guys are always allowed to suggest stuff.

Credits TIME! (Sorry)

Hey guys, quick question!
I downloaded the pack file and placed it in the data folder, and the launcher recognizes the mod before I play, so everything looks fine up until that point (Yes, I click to enable out of date mods and I click to enable the dwarf mod).
I can even see the Iron Hill faction in the faction list. But all the units still appear as the original averni units both in the lobby and in-game. Am I doing something wrong??

After a 40 turns of Legendary campaing with them I have to say is very cool play your mod but i have few suggestions:

The garrisons provided by cities upgrades and barracks and other buildings are ridicolously low, while a vanilla factions use to have between 7 or 12 units, dwarves cannot aford to get more that 2 or 3.

Also its obvious Dwarves lack of Elite units, I like low and medium tier balance, but Pikes seems a bit weak for me, maybe much more armoe giving them more Elite role.

Any chance getting Crossbows?

The garrison thing made me loose my campaing, well that and because I lost so stupidly an Armie inside a city that surrended in next turn but hey this is a great mod.

Really glad to hear you like the mod thank you so much for the kind words. :D

So first of all the crossbows. Rome 2 does not have any crossbow models or support them. Which means if I should add a crossbow unit to the game (Which I am not to sure is possible) I would have to model a crossbow. Give it animations with the string, give the units animations so it looks like they are reloading and firing the crossbow. and a lot more. Which is too much work, so no I'm sorry, but I am not going to add crossbow men.

The second problem with the units and making them better is a thing I should have predicted. The problem with trying to balance new custom units with vanillla units is that I wanted them to be as balanced, but still have the power of dwarves. Which sounds like failed a bit. I might look into it later on.

Right now I am trying to learn a new 3D modeling program and after that I am hopefully going to help a guy make a game for PC. So I am not working so much with mods anymore. I want to forfill my dream and make a game or two. xD

What about the garrisons? 1or 2 units per city make imposible to defend from factions such as Carthage and Rome that has enormous amounts of Armies.

Okay okay. I can try and take a look at it mate. I'm not even sure I remember how to do all those things, but sure. So what do you suggest add more units for garrison?

Dont worry dude, Im just giving feedback, what you do with it is your decision. Hmm I would give them like 7 or 8 units for basic city garrisons; 5,6 for villages and 3 or 4 per military building tier 1,so this way you can defend from much more numbers. Just to be sure if you cant do this dont do it your mod is already playable and awesome.
