buggy
Congratulations on a release! Well done, Vince and team!
Buggy? Of course - it's a Beta
Wish they would release it on bittorent!
oh, this mod isn't...so...gre...a... I can't lie
its the best MP mod to come out in a long time.
its just awesome
I havent seen a beta this buggy ever. Well there was that one Resident Evil mod....but that was alpha....
Despite the lag, giant machine guns, and plain maps, its a good mod.
Amazing modification, but unfortunately it seem to be having an awful netlag problem... :/
Loads of lag and bugs, I know you want to release something but ... please don't release buggy betas...
itll prob get better like all betas almost always do. empire mod was really laggy at first also.
i give up on source mods
no matter how cool the concept is and how much work you actually put into it, for some reason it always turns out really ri-*******-diculously laggy. Yes i understand if its a beta, but come on if its that bad no one will want to play it even if it is just a beta.
You cant just throw the word beta around everywhere as a cure-all word for hl2 mods. All these source mods thinking the source engine is amazing and trying all these crazy ideas that sound awsome on paper... come release time its laggy to hell. Empires mod, eternal silence, iron grip... im beginning to lose hope.
Speaking from my own experience, it's hard to test lag before release because it's difficult to get people together to test if it's a closed group. One of the reasons you release is so that you have more players testing the mod to find bugs and also sources of lag. People expect too much from a mod's first release nowadays. With HL1, lots of mods came out and were buggy and laggy, yet people overlooked that because mods weren't expected to be perfect. Anything new was welcomed. Now, people have gotten all used to the later polished versions of HL 1 mods, Counterstrike, Day of Defeat, Natural Selection, etc, and don't remember the early versions at all. They expect the same perfection of those later polished versions of the initial releases of HL2 mods.
