You can try the RiderContain module with fake riders for the transformation ability, so you never encounter this problem again, and no intermediate object needed. Use delay to make it have time to do transforming animation.

I am very interested about coding of transformations, but I had a question. You said you can change a unit into another unit, you mena that for example from Humvee you can had a Crusader? And if it is right, is possible to make a from Crusader a Raptor, which will fly in circle in waiting-mode?

I use a module called "ReplaceObject" which when activated, instantly turns the object into a designated one. This is activated by an upgrade, so each transforming unit (MCV, Nanocore, This one) has a button on the commandset that is for the transformation, you click it, it grants the upgrade, and the unit turns into the new one. However, if you turn an air unit into a ground unit (or building I guess, Haven't tried yet) it comes falling through the sky. So that Raptor would just turn into the tank and fall to the ground. It also takes a little bit of damage from the fall.

So, this means that for example: When Raptor fly and you click on "transform" button, under Raptor will appear a Crusader and Raptor will fall on ground as destroyed or will fall like helicopter or airship? And your transforming units/buildings will had something like animation?

The click on the raptor
you click tranform
instantaneously, the raptor dissapears and the Crusader takes it's place.
The crusader then falls from the sky to the ground.

If you want to look at the coding itself, I have used this in the mod already, and you can see it in action, under the ini file called "Omni" something. Basically I used this so you can pick subfactions ingame. Each faction starts out with an 'omni' conyard, and when you click a button, a specific upgrade is granted and the ReplaceObject is activated, thus turning it into the respective Conyard for the Subfaction.

I am not a coder, but I plan to start a mod, where a transfrming will be a keypoint, so it really interest me. I herad from some coders that particulary "transforming" of the air->ground/ground->air is impossible cause a SAGE.

I can code a perfect transformation ability (like I've explained above), maybe I can help you.

Plus, the ReplaceObject module is very buggy and not suggested for object that can two ways transform like this.

Description

The transformation from ground to air fine. You simply deploy the unit and it transfroms and then hovers up to it's constant hieght. It almosts works perfectly the other way around, except that it turns into the ground unit mid-air, and free falls down to the ground, taking a little damage. But I will see if I can use an intermediat unit to solve this (and perhaps also enable the transformation animation).
