HMS Defiance 2, a prequel of HMS Defiance, is set in 1942 and 2086. You play as a hired specialist, Stephen Cartwright, who undertakes a quest for his mysterious captain for reasons, initially, unknown.

HMS Defiance 2 is now released and available for download. HMS Defiance 2 is a single-player Half-life 2 mod that focuses on level design, story telling and game play. HMS Defiance 2 takes the player to the HMS Defiance, a space habitat and an ancient temple and features new weapons, an original story (separate from the Half-life storyline) and a note reading system.
