The idea that initiated the gamemode: Pacman with Zombies. Although it has evolved farther from the original concept; you don't go around munching pills, but you do listen to repetitive electronic music and kill exploding zombies.
The game is a non-team-based arcade style shooter, fast-paced and quick and easy to get into. You'll never feel isolated in the game, you're always active.
The round starts off by having a person turn on the radio. Some recognizable music will start up initiating the round and alerting the horde. The first waves of zombies are easy, but the game gets harder and harder as time goes by. You'll be finding yourself facing off against the classic slow zombies, the 28-weeks-later athletic zombies, and the boomerstyle 'sploder zombie.
The game isn't about grinding or winning hats or items, it's about getting the best time, and the best time is recorded on the server.
It's extremely simple, but the fun comes from working together as a group to get ammo and trying to keep each other alive.
There are no rules. Kill zombies, survive the longest.
The mod isn't specifically dead, but it won't receive any updates any time soon.
I'm busy right now porting some of the aspects of the mod into a stand-alone counter-strike mod, but it will be a minigame sort of deal and not be it's own mod.
Help! Zombies! basically won't be a garry's mod gamemode, but instead be a gametype inside another big mod, kind of like how Zombie Mod is in Counter-Strike. More information might be released, depending on what I actually want to tell you guys and what I've gotten done, but for now the mod will be developed in secrecy.
Stay fresh, cheese bags.
