Harvest is a custom story for Amnesia: The Dark Descent, which places you in the shoes of Liam Connelly, a journalist for the Irish Record. Following a tip from the lead detective on a case he's been covering, Liam travels to a restored castle estate in County Kilkenny in hopes of breaking the story as it unfolds.
The flashlight is finished and working in-game. I've also added a pen light (similar to the glowstick from Penumbra) which is to be used for backup illumination. The pen light's model is just a rough concept at the moment, but it is functional. You can see the difference in illumination distance between the two (the flashlight has more than twice the range and power), but the important part is that both of them preserve your precious sanity while being held (or even stood near enough to).
The staircase that the two lights are positioned on is a custom job and will be in Harvest as well, but until it's actually in place (and not just in a test map) I'll keep it under wraps for the most part. Suffice to say that there is a lot of modeling being done, which will hopefully give Harvest a distinct feel, unlike that of Amnesia or Penumbra.
cool idea! But maybe also change the light color and the radius because it's a "backup" lightsource like in Penumbra? ^^
The light color is actually whiter than the default flashlight, and the pen light only has about 1/2 the radius. I might expand the FOV of the spotlight also, but we'll see. It's tough enough getting the game to recognize two separate flashlights, I'm just hoping I can figure it out using the Penumbra code at this point.
