In this single player level for Half-Life 2, Gordon Freeman (the player) finds himself on the sea shore with a terrible hangover. He is surrounded by empty beer bottles a few Headcrab corpses and a bicycle. Does not remember anything about how he got there or what happened there and the night before. Sets off to find out and as usual gets into a bunch of “fun” activities along the way.

This feels like a labor of love and that a lot of effort was put in a lot of places, but I found the whole thing confusing, aggravating and more broken than fun. This is probably a case of lacking the serious polish needed to feel finished.

The best example I can give of what I mean is with the final bonus Antlion battle. This is a battle that I failed at least 10-15 times, 3 of them for trying to jump onto platforms that seemed clearly safe but resulted in a "failed mission", more than three times failing the mission for reasons unexplained (I was doing fine and just waiting for barrels when it suddenly just failed), and many more times just failing because it wasn't clear what I was supposed to do.

But I do want to like it, though. A lot of good ideas were tossed here. I liked the premise of the inventory system for health items and I enjoyed the first level for this large area to explore just before leaving the level. There are a lot of good ideas here (and others not so good for me, but passable).

I feel like with polish, cleanup, and maybe scrapping some of the less developed, more gimmicky ideas, there could be a solid set of maps for exploration in here. I liked solving puzzles to collect the myriad of (mostly unexplained) trinket items hanging around, and I think there's a lot of promise in that avenue of the game.

There's a lot of ideas here, some good, some bad, none polished.

I'm hoping to see a more cleaned up version in the future. I think it has potential.

i would say around 6/10, cause its solid, but has a lot of room to improve. lightmaps has to built, the voice has to be boosted, and that horrible vehivle driveablility has to be improved somehow.

Given that this little mod is now
some years old and never got the
patch it urgently needed i agree
with those who said:nice ideas
but mostly poorly implemented.
It couldve been so much better.

This was REALLY cool. I love interactions with NPCs and these were really well done. Also the voice acting is 10/10. The item system thingy is interesting, but you probably wanted to make it more useful later... The only thing I didn't like about this mod was that sometimes characters talk while there's a lot going on and I can't stop to listen to them, and also sometimes I don't know where to go or what to do (Destroy those barrels! Are you blind??) YES IM BLIND XD I thought the elevator was down there... and also that door with 1234 password. I had to reload and do that whole fight again just to see her enter the password cause I just couldn't get in! And when I had to use the pliers to stop the alarm, I did it AFTER I killed all of the combine, barely surviving... But it was still one of the best mods ever IMO because I just love NPCs interactions so much. Wish you continued it but I guess not lol

Absolutely underrated! This mod strives to be unique, it was a pleasure to play and I would highly recommend it!

Needs work. No idea how to find the code for the door that leads to boat.
Terrible vehicle driveablility also.

* great mapping most often.
* but with that said, some parts lack optimization.
* decent gameplay.
* some interesting ideas, but mostly executed poorly.
* the inventory system gets in the way of combat.
* you progress through the story with a 'budget alyx'.
* takes about 40 minutes to complete.

some cool ideas, but pretty weak overall

Sorry to give only a 2 however I found multiple problems that were easy to find, walking out of map, undrawn textures, text overlaying on other text. Then I walked into a sign and the game ended?

Didn't get to see the lighthouse upclose? Screen flickered like mad when I used the rocket boat. Poorly optimized with bad FPS.

Turned on wire-frame to see that the tunnel and the archway has an obscene amount of polygons that are just not needed at all.

Also no idea how to find the code for the door that leads to boat and how the woman gets to the room with the controls?

Sorry bro.

I really had fun playing it! It was short, but for explorers like me, it can be taken into account as a medium lenght mod.

The Inventory System was nice. There are some new elements that were used wisely. The level design and atmosphere were just great!

On the other hand, I had some optimization problems while playing it in high level of video settings. I have a gaming computer that allows me to play new AAA games in high FPS. I think, the only thing that should be reconsidered is the optimization of the mod for Source SDK Base 2013.

9 out of 10!
