Halo: Starside Intercept is a Homeworld 2 total conversion bringing tactical space combat to the Halo universe.
Corvette concept, roughly 50% modeled at this time. The triangular objects on the side are Longsword-like wings that will rotate around, and the lower nacelle is a large jet engine for transatmospheric operations.
It's clear the UNSC use jet engines to keep vehicles aloft in atmosphere, I theorize the large grated vents on the underside of the Frigate are just this: Images3.wikia.nocookie.net
The grates on the Frigate are maneuvering thrusters much like the RCS thrusters on the now decomissioned space shuttles
Thrusters, yeah. They do look like something that would be used in atmosphere with the large grating/vent appearance.
<ignore>
VTOL turbines aren't new either, as the Harrier uses them. I'm sure since there would be more of the vents on the underside that that's what keeps them up other than magic sci-fi.
Looks pretty cool. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.
Thanks, I'm getting close!
The image has Bungie's logo on it. Is this original Bungie concept art? If so, where is it from, I've never seen it before.
