And please, if you must use Hierokonpolis use it as a ship name, not as a class name. I found keeping things under three syllables is a good thing generally :P
How about just Hierokon, take the polis off (since that just means city of...)
We threw the idea of a stealth ship around, but we saw no gameplay roles that could be filled by a stealth cruiser :/
ya there are is a place for a stealth cruiser, it could provide a cloak field for the fleet (up to a point of course) as it could be containing a generator providing a EM field disrupting the sensors

Halo cloaking is used by covering ships in ablative cloaking material that reflects all sensors (Covenant and UNSC) and also stop all EM emisions from outside the ship :P
How about make it into an infiltration ship, same class as the Say My Name, you could use the Vagyr infiltration frigate's drop pods (remodelled) to have it take over other ships!
how big is it, cause if its small, it could be used as a infiltration friget, or a missile friget.
It's more then likely going to be cruiser size. We haven't scaled it yet cos we don't know what it is ;D
what about a strike cruiser? Make it quite fast, heavily armed (?), but very weak armour. Used to quickly strike convoys or resource operations?
seems to be a bridge class between a halycon and a destroyer if you ask me, make from that what you will.
I would vote for something akin to a cruiser/carrier, call it an Escort Carrier. As of now, you guys only have the one "fleet carrier" (not counting the supercarrier), so could this fill a role similar to that filled by the "Escort Carrier" of WWII fame.
Essentially, this ship would serve as the flagship of small battle groups detached on duty to distant theaters not deemed valuable enough to send a fully outfitted battle group. This ship is on the size scale of a medium cruiser, but rather than cruiser armor and armament, it relies on improved speed (to keep up with destroyers and frigates that it would be escorting it) and deployment of a good deal of strike fighters.
This wouldn't be the center piece to a real fleet, but detached with a handful of ships, this carrier might tip the balance of a distant engagement over a fledgling colony or important trade route. When assigned to fleet duties, these carriers would be somewhat cheaper and faster to build than the up-sized fleet carriers, but several would be needed in a real fleet engagement to amass the firepower needed to make a difference in a battle of this size.
i think that .fortune has a great idea like in normal hw2 there is a mother ship and a carrier make this the carrier. making it maybe a small flagship would make it ideal to have with the smaller frigate and destroyer battle groups as well as supporting larger engagements as a fighter base. The covies have a similar ship just without fighters so this would be the unsc counter part. all in all go with .fortunes idea its brilliant!!!!
Another posible idea is to have it as an upgraded crusier or a crusier that can be upgraded. Forexample have it start out as a ship with a few fighter bays and then have it have upgrades that your fleet needs such as larger fighter bays, increased amounts of archer missles, more MAC guns and faster chargers or stronger electro-magnets, and maybe even a small flagship upgrade like improved firesupport and more point defences for small fighters. but make it like modules like the vager carrier can only make one production system so that way it stays ballanced and doesnt become super dreadnaught...just a thought :\
The design is brilliant. And it looks like the link between cruisers and the Astraeus-class. Keep up the good modeling and get the mod finished damit.

Fast Attack Cruiser maybe
You could equip this ship with a pulse laser, on halopedia i noticed that prowlers have them, you could make the big blob on the bottom as its location with a built in secondary generator so it doesnt suck power from the engines.
This could be scaled down some and used as a stealth ship. And stealth ships have one extremely usefull purpose: nuclear minefields.
