Half-Life: Decay is an add-on included in the PlayStation 2 port of the first-person shooter computer game Half-Life, developed by Gearbox Software and published in October of 2001. Our team is working on straight port of this game to PC! we shouldn\'t have to be doing this, but for some reason valve/ gearbox scraped decay for the pc. \"Decay PC\"\'s active development began in mid-October of 2005. Like Gearbox\'s other expansion packs Opposing Force and Blue Shift, Decay returns to the setting and timeline of the original story, but with different player characters: two female colleagues of Gordon Freeman, Dr. Gina Cross and Dr. Colette Green, who both take part in the Anomalous Materials laboratory experiment - they make preparations for the experiment under the Test Chamber such as monitoring Anti-Mass spectrometer and delivering anomalous materials to Dr. Freeman. When disaster happens both women together with their collegues Dr. Rosenberg...

The further you go in the mod, the better it becomes. It begins with simple missions and possibly some people would stop playing at the end of chapter 2 or 3. After that, not only the gameplay becomes exciting but the storyline is more interesting (although a reverse resonance cascade doesn't sound very creative). Maybe the most interesting thing about this is how it cross plots with HL Blue Shift and HL Opposing Force. Also it becomes more difficult as you get closer to the end. The end let much to be desired though.

I highly recommend play this in Co-op. Playing it Single Player is challenging, but not in a good way.

A wonderful port of the console version, allowing us PC gamers to finally play it!

Decay may be a short mod, but it is sure a fun mod if you are going to play it co-op. If you are going solo well, i think you may find it rather frustrating to switch between players to run different tasks. Nice but not very well-written storyline, same all-hl1 weapons and some new improvements for the GldSource engine. I still give it a 10/10, mainly for the effort of this mod's team to bring Half Life-Decay to the PC platform!

The Half-Life: Decay re-release by Hoaxer is a great port, one to truly experience and enjoy with a buddy if you want a good Half-Life puzzle co-op campaign. It isn't without its issues though.

The mod is plagued with errors and bugs, being if you knock an NPC out of place (even accidentally), it'll screw the entire campaign, and other things like requirements that break the game if not met. Otherwise, a splendid mod.

Didn't finished all chapters of it because bugs and no improvements over the original.

Someone should remake the code, this has bugs like:
- Fall down from high places then switch players before landing. Switched to character will take the fall damage. Same with other movements, the switched to character will affected instead.
- Enable cl_himodels and Collete Green have Gina Cross head.
- The model-based charger's syringe/whatever sometimes aims to wrong direction.

Also needs some improvements instead only straight port, like:
- Make bot behave like NPC, can commanded to follow player (cut feature in original, you can find the unused quotes for them).
- Add the PS2 aim system? :P

High quality port. Awesome.

Half-Life Decay is actually really good. A great time with a friend. However, Dr. Keller has to be the worst character in existence. His voice is the most monotone and retarded voice ever. And half the time I don't even know what the **** he's saying, so to get the full story, I had to look up the story. Dr. Keller is also really fun to throw grenades at and shoot in the face.
