Add an option to change the weapon accuracy for NPCs (rebels, combine).
"Half-life 2: Episodes" is a collection of handfuls (around 30-40-"ish?") of mostly very raw and unfinished 'beta' and 'demo' maps that showcase what many HL2 maps 'initially' looked like before they became their refined and final versions....and there also appear to be some maps that are akin to "B"-sides of a musical album -- in that they never made the 'cut' in appearing in any of the 'official' HL2 games...but they showed a lot of potential and promise...
Most of these 'demos' and 'betas' maps are very interesting to 'play through'...the actual 'playing time' is pretty short in each of the 30-40 or so maps......but in some cases that actual scenery and map design seem to be 'better' in these preliminary stages -- than what they ended up being in their 'final' stages of development once they made the cut and became part of the official HL2 games...
I rate "Half-life 2: Episodes" a 6.5/10.
This is fascinating stuff. Been quite a while since I played Ep2, so I don't remember too much about it.
These are proto-maps and test maps. They are incomplete in many ways; npc scripts incomplete or absent, some areas are noticeably more "uncluttered" than is customary in the HL2 world; no concern about whether you can "see past" the map edge; very unbalanced combats, and in some of them some of the wall/floor textures are missing and you just have the bare flat gray surfaces with the grid layout lines in plain view.
Some of the folders contain multiple versions of the same sequence, showing you how it evolved over several months of development.
You might as well enable console so you have access to noclip and god mode, since there's no story to follow and all you are doing is looking at developmental maps.
It seems that all or most of these maps have AI Disabled on them.
The NPCs don't do anything, and in maps that have elevators or the
generators, they both don't work.
Is AI disabled as part of the map ?
I've tried so far:
1. with a saved game, in console type:
sv_cheats 1
ai_norebuildgraph 1
ai_resume
-and-
2. ai_disable 0
...both to no avail, Ai still disabled after I loaded
my saved game.
Google posts don't seem to offer anything more.
I can play my other HL2 mods with no issue.
Thanks...
Hi,
Can someone explain me if these maps are now integrated into the main game or they standalone?
They are standalone. Nobody will do such thing. It is to much work to integrate them into main games! That's a law! regards :-)
Whenever I launch this mod, almost every single texture is missing. I have HL2, EP1, EP2, and CS:S installed, and I have tried copying the materials folder from EP2 into the mod folders. I am running the latest version of the mod. Any help is appreciated.
There is nkt usually a materials folder in ep2, but a vpk file. CSS, EP1, and HL2 do not matter.
I love this mod!
