Steam Legions of Iron Sound System and MP Fix file - Haegemonia - Vector Prime mod for Haegemonia: The Solon Heritage
Vector Prime is a Star Wars-themed modification to Haegemonia: The Solon Heritage. Its timeframe encompasses an era from the end of the old republic to the might of the New Republic and the Imperial Remnant. Playable "races" or factions are the Rebellion (later New Republic), the Galactic Empire, and another faction - pirates, civilians, bounty hunters and other indpenedent groups that have always had good influence on intergalactic politics. The modification also incorporates a random map generator, built into the game's launcher for easier functionality, unseen before in the Haegemonia series. From an extended galactic environment to the tactical mastery of the Jedi of the New Republic, you will find Vector Prime to be much more than just a simple graphics modification. Admiral, consider re-thinking your strategies before the next operation.
Description
As with my previous fix this is based on "TSH Sound System and Multiplayer Fix v1.1" and includes fixes for the dreaded Sound System Error and some multiplayer issues. Installation: simply replace the Game.exe in your Haegemonia directory with the one inside the archive. This patch was made for use with the STEAM VERSION of Haegemonia - Legions of Iron.

Sorry guys I made an error when I uploaded this. The first version I uploaded only contained the MP fix.
I uploaded a new version (Hgm_Steam_Soundfix_1.1.zip) which really contains both fixes this time.

This fix works on Windows 8/8.1?
I can't tell whether it works on Windows 8/8.1 because I don't own any of those, but I also haven't heard that ist doesn't work. You could of course simply try and report back with your results.
Well, I tried and... it works! I am now the happy owner of a Haegemonia copy without any sound system error! :)
That's nice to hear, wasn't expecting any suprises but one can't be sure whether Microsoft did introduce any new compatibility problems in Windows 8 that affect Haegemonia. Have fun :)

Unfortunately this patch doesn't work it just crashes the game immediately after the cut scenes.
I guess you're running Windows 10? This patch is based on the game version from before the devs fixed the Windows 10 issues that caused a immediate crash after the intro.
Is the Sound System Error crash still present in the latest game version? I hoped they fixed it along with the other issues but I haven't played the game lately.
Unfortunately the fixes to make it work with windows 10 did not fix the sound bug. Do you think there's any chance you would fix them? The sound bug isn't a huge hassle for me but it does get annoying.
As Dwarlen pointed out, they have fixed the Windows 10 problems, but the sound system crash is still present. If you could trouble yourself with updating your fix to accommodate this version of the executable, it would be appreciated by more people than just Dwarlen and myself, I can assure you.

I just uploaded a new version of this patch (Hgm_Steam_Soundfix_1.2.zip) based on the latest version on Steam, so the Windows 10 Crash should be gone now.

How I do that again? it been years since the last time I played Haegemonia on Steam and now, I forget how I installed this damn fix. Please, give me a step-by-step of how to do it,so I will never again to have any problem with this kind of thing. :-(
Hi there, haven't been on ModDB for a while so sorry for the late reply.
The installation is actually quite simple:
- download "Hgm_Steam_Soundfix_1.2.zip" from this site
- in your Steam Library right-click "Haegemonia: Legions of Iron" and open "Properties"
- click on the "LOCAL FILES" tab and once open click the "BROWSE LOCAL FILES" button
- replace the "Game.exe" file (may only show as "Game" depending on your explorer settings with the "Game.exe" file contained in "Hgm_Steam_Soundfix_1.2.zip"
- Enjoy not having crashes any more :)

Looks like there is still major issues to even run a game for owners of AMD RX 5*** GPUs

-show black screen
