Vector Prime is a Star Wars-themed modification to Haegemonia: The Solon Heritage. Its timeframe encompasses an era from the end of the old republic to the might of the New Republic and the Imperial Remnant. Playable "races" or factions are the Rebellion (later New Republic), the Galactic Empire, and another faction - pirates, civilians, bounty hunters and other indpenedent groups that have always had good influence on intergalactic politics. The modification also incorporates a random map generator, built into the game's launcher for easier functionality, unseen before in the Haegemonia series. From an extended galactic environment to the tactical mastery of the Jedi of the New Republic, you will find Vector Prime to be much more than just a simple graphics modification. Admiral, consider re-thinking your strategies before the next operation.

This is a direct Backport of the Sound Part of the TSH Fix to the Haegemonia: Legions of Iron executable. It is based on the german version 1.10 of LOI. Installation: simply unzip and place the contained Hgm.exe into your Haegemonia: Legions of Iron installation directory. You may want to backup your original in case you have any problems. Warning: this Patch is probably incompatible with the GOG edition of Haegemonia: Legions of Iron. As I understand, this .exe will prompt you for a CD Key which the GOG edition does not include. Limited testing has shown no problems, but don't blame me if this should somehow manage to destroy your data :)

This is great news, thanks for sharing! I will make a news post out of it, if you don't mind.

Did you include a multiplayer fix as well? There were multiple approaches to that problem, if you are interested, I can share you some info on the subject.

Thanks for promoting this. I hope it helps some to enjoy this great classic one more time without having to mess around with compatibility options (which didn't even fix the problem for me).

I did not attempt the multiplayer fix at first because I hadn't encountered it and I do not currently play LOI in multiplayer so I have no real means to test it. I've thrown together a new patched executable including the multiplayer fix here If someone could verify that this works I'll update the download.

I also believe that creating a patched GOG executable would be possible (depending on how much they changed the original code) - I do not own the GOG version but if someone provided me their Hgm.exe I think I could do it "blind".

I don't own the GOG version, but from what I've gathered over the years, the executable is pretty much the same, except that there is some sort of a "GOG Launcher" that patches the whole thing in-memory.
Problem is that because I don't have a GOG version, I don't quite know how it works. Whatever the case, creating such an exe modification would technically be the same as creating a No-CD hack, which obviously violates the EULA on way too many levels.

I noticed on my machine (Windows 7 64bit) I didn't experience any crashes if I disabled visual themes as well as ran as admin and with Windows XP compatibility. I'm not sure if this is a foolproof fix or if it just decreases the likelyhood of Sound System Error crashes.

I wrote up all the steps here, and backlinked this fix as a possible solution to the problem:

Surprisingly my linux mint machine (with dirty hacks employed to make linux accept the AMD A10 6800K drivers without big issues) runs it very well with wine. I did not have to configure wine except for letting it install directX.

On a side note, about the only games I do not have working yet on my linux machine are XNA based. All the rest, ranging from Rome 2 till many others are working entirely fine.

So I suppose if your machine has enough muscle, you could run a linux VM which is allowed to call to the GPU directly (3d accelerated). Likely more people could test to see if that solution won't make it crash.

Haegemonia was recently released on Steam and i couldn't resist the summer sale, so the good news for you is that there are now patches for the Steam versions of LOI and TSH.
