The HB2 series is a vast improvement on the HB1 “sparkflight” series of aerial combat drones, Dubbed the ‘LAAD-Medigear’ by Empire roboticists, it is more commonly referred to as a ‘Lady’ inside the Gunstar military, deriving from the ‘LAAD’ prefix.
Dual mounted rotors on either side of the main chassis increase stability and reliability, the turreted Light Auto cannon on its underside means it doesn’t need to expose its vulnerable interior nor does it need to be stationary to fire at the enemy, making it a much greater threat than its predecessor.
The increased lift capacity offered by 2 rotors enabled the empire to make the Medigear chassis out of a new steel alloy meaning they can sustain is increased, at the same time reducing the overall damage they take, this comes with a drawback of reduced manoeuvrability, which compared to all the plusses this variant offered was deemed and acceptable sacrifice.
