Hello once again,

I've started playing this mod and so far I am getting beaten down by everyone so far (oh the good old Gothic :) ). I love the new experiences and the expansion of map is just marvelous.

However, I am getting terribly frustrated by the hunger and thirst mechanics, they are really harsh and annoying. In the very beggining of the game I started to explore the new awesome game sights, but I soon realized that I have to rush headlesly for food and water just to keep me alive, and that's what got me down a lot. I loved Gothic because it didn't have any inventory or hunger cap, just the plain play n' go feel.

Is there a way to turn off this mechanic, or at least you could consider adding this option in the future? It takes away half the fun from me :(

just insert food and water with cheats for now

pretty sure that in the next update you will only have to eat and drink like once a day not like it is now

Came here for the same reason.

I love the mechanic, when possible I always mod my games to make them more challenging but starting out is overkill in this mod.

There's only water in the tower and without food I can't get past the sheep, which yields no meat.

My recommendation would be to add some bread to the tower so new players can get an "introduction" to hunger/thirst mechanic.

Hope the fix works well, I'll stick to cheats "which I hate and break immersion" atleast until I find food.

Search the boxes in the tower (upper lvl) theres enough food to stay alive till chapter 2 xD

One question: are those the ones who are locked? Can't find a way to open them sadly. I had to spawn some bread to be able to go down the path to Cavalron, I looted the bandits and got some food. Then I had to steal the crap out of Innos' shrine on my way to Khorinis until I was jumped by two bloodflies (died two times trying).

They followed me all the way to the farm, they killed Tolbar and one of the farm hands so no quest there.

10/10 would ruin my own quest opportunities again! :)

Taking the opportunity of this post I'd like to throw some feedback your way in hopes of fine tuning the mechanic as I've found some things that could be improved.

1- The rate at which hunger/thirst come seems to be random. Sometimes I load a game and instantly I get the warning. I know you've said you're planing to make so one has to eat atleast 3 times a day which is logical, but I wanted to share my thoughts on the matter anyways.

2- Hunger/Thirst script/system/timescale could stop when the player enters dialogue mode so that it doesn't affect the immersion factor. I've found I have to quickly dismiss a conversation because thirst (the worst since as soon as it pops up you're taking damage) and/or hunger pop up and I feel I need to rush the moment or I'll die. The purpose of the mechanic should be to add to immersion not to break it.

There's a fine mod that achieved this for TESV Skyrim. It's called Realistic Needs and Diseases. I loved this mod because gave food a purpose and added to immersion by doing just what I explained. Stopping the scrip while you're in Dialogue mode and resuming it when you exit a conversation.

I don't know how possible would be to make this happen but again I hope my thoughts are of help.

3- Thirst needs to be nerfed a bit, the instant damage you take when it pops up can pretty much work against you in a fight. Because atleast with hunger you'll get the message and know you need to eat soon before the message turn to yellow or you'll start taking damage. But thirst is intant and does get you killed when you might aswell be winning a fight or doing something of the sort.

Perhaps making it so that it works like hunger could easily fix this issue as players will have a few moments to drink something before actually taking damage.

I hope my suggestions are of any help. I'm really looking forward to the next version of the mod or a quick hotfix for the hunger/thirst situation.

Yeah that's what I based my own take upon :D (along with L'Hiver). I'll try to find a way to prevent thirst/hunger when talking, maybe because I've heard the dialogues SO many times that I almost always skip them (hence im not starving xD)

Thank you for the feedback on the chests, I didn't add in the recompiled world, which would fix this issue. So so sorry! I'll upload the nevw version once I finish working on some boss AIs (Dragons + Raven).

Can you split the mod?

To make the changes you want and then make another mod for starving/thirst.

You are taking too much of the time working on triyng to balance it and less time doing the original things you were planing.

I followed your mode cause you want to change/add new things to it.With you messing with a new system of survival you take apart from the fun.I really want to enjoy you mod,but most of the news are like yeah i'm doing something to balance the magic,do some quest and once again thrist/hunger problems.

Please,i like your ideas.Don't take the fun out of the mod,increase the dificulty,add new skills,new monsters and so on like you originally planed.

Quick suggestion here Vic7im.

While you're at hunger/thirst perhaps you might want to take a look at sleeping. It could use some tweaking aswell as the character wants to sleep way before evening when you wake up from morning.

Also quick question, is there a way to know the time of the day other than looking at the sun's position?

Is it possible to disable hunger/thirst? It's a nice feature, but really annoying. My character is always hungry, his metabolism is so fast a whole loaf of bread and bottle of water lasts him only 2-3 minutes...

Everything you made on this mod is great and thank you for that. But hunger and thirst every few minutes are really annoying. If it would be once a day, It would be sufficient. Or at least make option to set it on or off please!
