Ahoy landlubbers!

I'm having quite some trouble trying to work on the mod on my own, mostly because I don't have time to do all the things that I would like/love to add. A BIG thing are QUESTS.


I need help. Seriosuly, It's getting overwhelming here doing all the stuff alone.

But Vic7im, how can we help you???


Well it's quite simple. I've found a little program called Easy Dialog Maker (EDM from now on) that hastens the whole questing process by a LOT. The only problem is that (big surprise) I don't have time to sit down and work not even for an hour straight on this mod (not at the moment, at least).

That's why I'm doing tutorial videos on how to use this program along with an english translation of the EDM itself to make quest creation as easy as eating a potato chip.

That's when you, reader, come in.

I'm looking for people that know how to TYPE ON A KEYBOARD and FOLLOW VIDEO INSTRUCTIONS.

No programming knowledge needed, just some time to spare, the love for Gothic and this mod, and the CREATIVITY to create unique dialogues "a la Gothic", following your quest ideas or mine (got almost 50 quests done "on paper" that need dialogues)

I can't stress enough how HUGE your contributions will be with just a few minutes of your time. I'll be posting a tutorial video shortly showing how easy is to create a simple "fetch this Item for me" Quest.

Guys I need some help !

I just simply can't learn the dual weapon stance.
I tried everything.
I can't read the book which can teach me the basic technique
I can't learn it from Nejeb
I tried to go in his body with the marvin-mode but still nothing
this part of the fight is missing from my g2.
Someone help please.

A bit of news.

Ditched the GothicSourcer and cleaned up the code as much as possible (kind of rewriting it from scratch).

A collection of new/old features:
Respawning plants and monsters. It'll take from couple days to weeks (in-game time) to respawn.
You no longer need to focus an NPC to damage him (like Severance: Blade of Darkness or Dark Souls)
FreeAim and all the goodies Mud-Freak created are in
Sprint is the ONLY thing that will affect stamina

Todo:
Telekinesis
Add the rest of the stuff I had in the previous release
Weapon Animations will be slower if the strength requirement is higher than X
Considerable difference between 1h and 2h weapons (speed and dps vs slow but massive damage)

Incredible work you did so far...But in my opinion, getting rid of focusing on enemy is not a good idea. Maybe the Gothic felling could be gone, too. I'm not sure how good it is when no need to focus anymore. But for years, played with focusing, thinking which enemy that need to kill, or lure one of them to you so that it could be easier to fight, step by step, that make "Gothic"... And with your mod, the most expected mod at the moment, it could be gone, I beleave it will be hard for me to get use to the new system.

Yes and no. There's still focus, but you won't get zergrushed by 10+ enemies at once without retaliating. You'll always have to focus your enemy to swing your weapon, but it'll deal some damage to the surrounding ones as well, based on the range of the weapon and the actual swing.

The Gothic mechanics are still there, it's just that the player has a slight advantage when fighting against real hordes.

Not at all, as I said I was busy with life. Since I wanted to play my mod and it crashed 3 times in 10 minutes, I've decided to rewrite it from scratch.

And it's working out pretty good so far. The steal/stun/assassinate is back and fully functional again.

This is my first review on moddb, and apparently if I had given a lesser score I wouldn't have to write one. However, I cannot justify giving this mod a score that is anything, but 10/10. For one simple reason. There are no new Gothic games. Even Risen 3 that was supposed to be back-to-the-roots game for Piranha Bytes, was not a Gothic game. There are only 3 real Gothic games: Gothic 1, Gothic 2 and Risen 1. Being given the opportunity to experience a Gothic game that I have not experienced before…
