GMDX is an award-winning large-scale modification for the 2000 PC classic Deus Ex. GMDX addresses the many flaws of the game, polishes it to a very high standard, and adds new layers of depth that one would have hoped to see in a sequel. GMDX is executed with the strict parameter of staying true to the original design principles that define Deus Ex, and seeks to improve all aspects of design excluding the plot and soundtrack. The cumulative result thus far is said to be, and aims to be the "definitive Deus Ex experience".

This patch is only relevant to those that downloaded GMDXv9.0 before 10th July 2017. If you've downloaded GMDXv9.0 any time after the aforementioned date (or the release of this patch) this can safely be ignored.

GMDXv9.0.1 Patch

This patch fixes the following bugs:

-Fixes the crashing on the UNATCOMJ12Lab map (location: after the Hotel gets raided by UNATCO).
-Select NSF no longer have MJ12 combat/stealth/reaction barks/voice acting.
-Standing accuracy bonus can never take you over 95% accuracy (as per vanilla design)
-Vanilla bugfix: standing still for long periods of time won't constantly build up the standing accuracy bonus.
-Throwing decorative objects (non-power throw) at "Tank" NPCs (Gunther, super mibs) won't break the object.

This patch is compatible with your v9.0 save games. Instructions to install are included within.

Note to users that have experienced the crash at the UNATCO Lab level: to get the map crash fix to work you have to load a save game from back before you got captured by UNATCO (one level previous).

Shouldn't the main release on July 10th been versioned as 9.0.1 then? The versioning should be linear to prevent confusion.

I'm so sorry, excuse my ignorance, but where the heck is DeusEx\GMDXv9\Maps and how "place" the "05_NYC_UNATCOMJ12Lab.dx file". Sorry, it's been a while playing video games, so I'm out of the loop on how to do this patching. Love the game so far - bringing me back in time.

I figured out the file locations, but now when I launch the game, I can't activate the main menu - no key or mouse input responds. I even downloaded v 9.0.2. Any thoughts?

Try right clicking the Play_GMDX shortcut and running as admin.
Try changing the renderer in the "configure" menu when launching from anew game.
