This picture show units before and after than the player upgrade them with heavy armor.
(The head is just a variation, there will be dwarves with hoods and armor).
Not to sound rude or anything but "ranger" doesn't seem to fit well with a Dwarven unit in my opinion. Maybe something like "Caradahras Venturers" or up to you. Love the model by the way :)

I prefer ranger because venturers are juste passangers (For an expedition for exemple).
Rangers are people than know perfectly the mountains and all the enemies which live in these mountains.
Holy Dwarven Concept! I never imagined it that way! Good point. Kinda like modern Mountain Troopers and Scout Rangers. BTW, are they gonna come in three variants like Games Workshop's or you're gonna stick with one concept, like a bow?
They will have the possibility to switch axe/bow ;)
At the start they are fast units which can rapidly defend the player against the enemy spam and the monsters like troll.
When they receive their upgrades, they become stronger and they become good units of support.

I love the concept already. A light versatile Dwarven unit. Keep up the good work :)
At first I was also thinking of Men , not dwarves.
Very small men xD
