Global Storm mod is a modification for Battlefield 2 v1.5.

Main goal of GS mod is to improve gameplay with semi-realistic style

GS mod has also a goal of making "BattleField 2 v2.0" that means improving game only with good stuff and to stay with original BF2 concept and of course to have the same system requirements as BF2 v1.5.

If you are looking for a mod that will drastically change gameplay, moving it away from original BF2 concept then this mod won't be attractive to you as other mods would.

Global Storm mod brings features that wil improve your gaming experience over vanilla Battlefield 2.
Those features are:

- New animations;
- New weapons,
- New sounds;
- New textures,
- 3D sights for weapons;
- Better and smarter bots (ESAI bots);
- Improvements to all vehicles and aircraft;
- Improved stationary weapons;
- Increased speed of rockets;
- Bigger Single Player map sizes: 16/32/64 (thanks to the work of "Ti_GER arn354).
- and much, much more.

During the last 10 days I was working on some sounds effect and I decided to bring them into GS. That also led me to fix some of my mistakes I made before. In result the mod should now be in a more stable condition. Also good guy Simcardo was good enough to share his cool looking HUDs for armored vehicles with GS. And with help of the Neo82 , GS now has a multiplayer support. There's a dedicated server on which you can play GS against other players. In order to play on this server you'll need to download a "BF2ModLauncher". Start it and ingame you'll be asked to make a new online profile.

There are 2 cool things about BF2ModLauncher:
- First, the profile that you'll make there, can also be used to play other mods (AP,PR,FH2 and so on).
- Second it won't make any changes to BF2 files, which means you could at the same time have e.g. BF2Revive installed and play it if you wish on their supported servers. The profile that you make with BF2ModLauncher is different, NOT connected with e.g. BF2Revive, GameRanger and so on.

Here is the changelog of v0.8.5:

- Added new firing sounds for handheld weapons.
- Added new vehicles HUDs.
- Changed weapons RoF to work better with BF2 Engine.
- Changed weapons Crosshair size, now it's more spread out, but it's only a visual change.
- Changed weapon recoil, now it's a stronger recoil and little harder to hit enemies.
- Changed main menu music, now it's a main theme of BFBC2.
- Fixed missing sounds on some weapons.
- Tweaked localization files, but I still recommend to play this mod with English version.

Hello, I have installed global storm v0.85 and the launcher for play in multiplayer, I already have an account and its online, but when y try join appears a message that said "You cant join because killed some of your partners". Pleas sayed me whats happend and what I need to do. I never play in multiplayer, so I never killed anybody.

I have no idea. Have you made any changes on Global Storm v085? Do NOT use "Hardcore addon", for online multiplayer play.

That's a feature of GS mod, when you sprint you have a head-bob effect.

My Head bob is part of sprint animation, I can't lower it, maybe you can reduce speed of animation.

Thanks for your reply. Here's what I did, I copied the sprint animations from the default BF2 equivalents of the weapons used in your mod. I then renamed them to the names you have given the weapons and overwrote yours.
This means I still have the great weapons and animations, but the sprint is BF2 default, and it works fine.

I do like the head bob as a concept, but it was too much for me and after a while just made me feel sick.
I've found a few other comments saying the same thing. Perhaps one day, when you have time, you could provide alternative sprint animations?

I also think there's bug with spawns on the Karkand 64 player map in SP. I was able to go from the US base all the way to the other side of the river and take all the enemy base flags in that area. Not one single enemy in that area opposed me. However, I did see enemies spawning and instantly dying behind the building at the flag up on the left after crossing the bridge.
Every few seconds I'd hear arhhhh, arghhhh, so I went to have a look and there they were spawning and dying.

This is my go to mod right now, keep up the great work, thanks, Gatto :-)

learn how to edit animations in 3DS MAX - it's super easy to remove camera bone (headbob) for sprint animations...

Bots are bots, there's nothing you can do there, they spawn were they want. Some maps have that one spawn point were bots spawn and auto die, I don't know why or how to fix it.

I kinda like that head bob effect and I even once got post, that they want to increase head bob effect, but that would be awfully. I play lot's of ArmA series so I got used to head bob and I like it :)

bots are programmed in battlefield 2 to die when they end up outside of navmesh in a map when they are stuck - it's made so that they dont waste tickets by standing around etc - you need to fix navmesh on that map

Yes spawn points should be fixed. But I don't have time or will to do it :P :)
