Freeworlds: Tides of War is a fan built Star Wars total conversion mod for Digital Anvil's Freelancer game that was released several years ago. When fans began to make mods for Freelancer, one of the many things people were keen on seeing was a Freelancer mod based on the Star Wars universe developed by George Lucas. Freeworlds and Tides of War were the answer to this outcry. The development team of both mods have now joined forces to create an epic new Star Wars TC, Freeworlds: Tides of War.
FWs 2.0 has made contact with the modders at the First Strike mod. Through their generous nature, the FS mod team have given FWs mod team the rights to use their incredible model/textures for many of their fighter craft!

FWs has been fortunate enough to have made connections to other mods that try to create a universes for SW lovers to immerse themselves in. The first connection is through the First Strike mod, a mod for BattleField 2142. With the help of RedMonkey, the head modeler at the First Strike Mod, we were able to obtain all of their fantastic fighter models to put in our new FW 2.0. Our team offers a huge thanks to their extremely generous nature and great cooperative attitudes.
In addition to FS Mod sharing their fabulous work, we've also had the help from the modelers/texturers from the X-wing Alliance Upgrade Project. They have donated many of their fine models/textures to us to really improve the overall quality of FW 2.0.

I think this is a great idea as it saves time for modders but allows the same quality of content. As long as people are happy to share stuff that is.
Well, that's the thing; both parties need to feel happy with the relationship. Fortunately, the guys at the FS mod, were quite willing to share their fabulous work with us. FW 2.0 will surely be THAT much better because of their contributions.
Its "Battlefield 2142" not "BattleFront 2142".
just fyi...
Thanks. Fixed.
Hey i hope that number of polygons isn't enormous, 'cos the size of the mod would be huge... The old ones look great with small amount of polys, thx to great texturing. But we'l see.
They're hardly huge (most are less than 7-8K) and there is some incredible texturing on these models. These pictures don't do them justice, to be honest.
Glad they worked out for you guys.
