Freeworlds: Tides of War is a fan built Star Wars total conversion mod for Digital Anvil's Freelancer game that was released several years ago. When fans began to make mods for Freelancer, one of the many things people were keen on seeing was a Freelancer mod based on the Star Wars universe developed by George Lucas. Freeworlds and Tides of War were the answer to this outcry. The development team of both mods have now joined forces to create an epic new Star Wars TC, Freeworlds: Tides of War.
FriendlyFire rolled out his new starspheres last night and we thought it was nice to show you guys what the galaxy looks like now.
The image will shift based on your position and distance to the core, so will give every system a very unique feel.
And how was it done? Used pics from Hubble and other sats? Simulated a galaxy and then rendered it from different camera positions? Or some other method was used?
That looks awesome, and nice attention to detail considering star system's distance from the galactic core when developing these. Very cool.
If you guys made a game company and did a game like what your doing now, you guys would be praised for making a game and getting as many of the bugs out. I await for the final product.
very nice
no they'd be hounded by investors for taking too long lol
If we actually got paid for this (as opposed to doing this in our free time, when we have any), trust me, we'd go faster.
I wish I had millions. I'd hire you all and give you your own company.
And buy the liscense from Disney o'course.
Everyday i see this page, hoping to find an update...
This mod will be(and still is) the best Freelancer mod that existed. This is the most beautiful recreation of that old game that i've ever seen!
You're doing a great job out there, and like Glandor said:
"I wish i had millions. I'd hire you all and give you your own company."
Tell me when it is finished ;)
Wow that looks great
good work, may you provide a detailed HD shot of the sphere please?
