Freelancer: HD Edition is a mod that aims to improve every aspect of the game Freelancer while keeping the look and feel as close to vanilla as possible.
If you just want to play Freelancer as it was without any major changes, then this is what you use. It's as simple as that.
This is an amazing reinvention for a game which is now 21 years old. The team has done an amazing job making this for a new era. The options in the installer are great too and to my mind everything has worked well so far as a sandbox run. Amazing stuff.
