For Rome is the roman mod for mount and blade warband, featuring roman tactics and discipline like an testudo formation. Its siege have been changed: fight all over the city and use ballistas and battering rams, there will be a big political system with treason and quests, to reach the ultimate goal: become the emperor of rome. So the only question you need to ask yourself is how far will you go for Rome?

Can you perhaps make fire arrows heavier(as in not going that far)?

Because you would need a lot of cloth(or something else that burns easily) on the tip of the arrow so that it doesn't just die out the moment you shoot the arrow.

Fire arrows were never historically used. I'm not sure where the idea came from, even the Total War games have them.

But I don't mind them in games. They are games after all, we can give reality a bit of slack.

Lol, no they were not. They were NEVER historically used. They would have no practical function at all and would just blow out as soon as they left the bow.

they were used at night so the archers would see where they were shooting at
much like todays tracer bullets

Except that they would snuff out as soon as loosed.
