As the Battle on Installation 04 rages on between the Covenant and UNSC forces, an evil so terrible lies silently in slumber. In the pursuit of knowledge and power, the Covenant unleash a force that even they fear. As Containment Facilities across Alpha Halo are breached, one in particular is at the forefront of this. On a lone island in the middle of Installation 04's many seas, a facility unlike the others contains something that will make the Flood thousands of times more formidable to combat. A Gravemind lies dormant deep inside the recesses of this vault. The Battle for Installation 04 is about to reach its pinnacle.

News post regarding our Flood Environments in StKft, and in all of our levels. As well as news regarding future updates.

Posted by on

Before I get started about the News Post Subject, let's take a look at our Flood Environments in StKft.

Obviously, since we're doing a Flood mod, many people wondered if we'd be making Flood Environments similar to Halo 2 and 3. The answer to that, is of course: yes. It was something I had planned from the beginning, and I'm super happy on how it looks and feels ingame. A while back after the old beta was released I showed a picture of our Flood fog ingame. Well, we've touched that up a bit more, added the promised Flood spores AND Flood Biomass to go with it. So, without delaying any longer, here's a bunch of pictures of them:

You can check the other pictures over at our Images section.

As per usual, everything is Work In Progress, and may be changed. Also to note: this is only one of many Flood Environments throughout the Campaign and this level. There will also be both bigger and smaller environments too. Here is a short video of this part of the level that shows the Flood Environments:

Now, to the topic title....

I'm afraid I have some bad news regarding development of the Mod in general. That being that it isn't going as fast as we'd like it to go. This is mainly due to school starting back up again, and all of us having less and less time to actually do anything on the mod. This doesn't mean however that progress has stopped, it has not. It is just going a much slower pace.

So, how is this affecting the mod exactly? Well, first off the weekly updates we've been doing around every Wednesday are stopping. We don't have the time anymore to keep up with them. So, large news updates that you've seen over the past month are a thing of the past, for now.

Those of you who have monitored our HaloMaps thread noticed that it had been locked. This was a personal request by me to the admin. The reason? Well the mod has undergone a very radical change recently that effects hugely the workload, and how the end product will play out, because of this, we feel it is necessary to make a new thread in due time with said update. Which we are keeping secret for now. As for those of you here, at Moddb, you will also receiving said update when it is ready. Which is within 2-4 weeks. It is a large update, and does drastically effect the mod.

Now, I apologise for boring you with all that text, but I feel it's necessary to keep you guys in the loop on what's happening development-wise.

Tl;dr? There isn't one. Go read it.

Just to note aswell, we'll be uploading pictures from StKft and other things occasionally to keep you guys happy, I'll also still be around from time-to-time to answer stuff, as well as our other developers.

It all looks vanilla to me, although you should note that console graphics were less than the PC counterpart, that's even if you played the Xbox version.
If you didn't then obviously it's just poor memory, they've always been like this.

Try and keep the routine of working on the mod in your schedule. It would be a waste to see this mod die D:.

Just to say that the mod definitely isn't dead, or will it die. I've quite frankly put way too much time into working on it to give up now. That said, it won't be dead. As I mentioned in the news post, I'll try my best to update the mod with pictures of progress of StKft and tagset updates after I'm done with those areas.
