As the Battle on Installation 04 rages on between the Covenant and UNSC forces, an evil so terrible lies silently in slumber. In the pursuit of knowledge and power, the Covenant unleash a force that even they fear. As Containment Facilities across Alpha Halo are breached, one in particular is at the forefront of this. On a lone island in the middle of Installation 04's many seas, a facility unlike the others contains something that will make the Flood thousands of times more formidable to combat. A Gravemind lies dormant deep inside the recesses of this vault. The Battle for Installation 04 is about to reach its pinnacle.
Showing off our new randomised armour for the elites, aswell as the shield shader which is now active on shielded flood when they're hit.
Excuse any duplicates in the armour, each time a map is loaded containing the armoured elites, their armour changes position.
And the map being used is Danger Canyon, we use it for testing tags.
Huh, interesting. Good to seem the ol' Flood getting some upgrades.
Looking good.
Gonna make infected hunters?
hunters can not be infected because basicaly they are just huge pile of worms :=
Halo wars be hacking the laws of life then.
Either way, if they work as a collective conscience, then what would happen if the flood tapped this and infected the central mindset?
It's possible, but I get that it would be pretty difficult.
Halo Wars really stretched the boundaries of canon altogether, not only with the storyline, but with the units too.
Originally Bungie stated Grunts and Jackals could not be converted to combat forms as they were too weak and mainly served to produce biomass and carrier forms.
This is the road we're taking. This choice was decided about a year after the mod was announced, when Halo Wars first came out. There was a huge influx of new potential Flood units, but we really didn't feel they did the canon of the original trilogy any justice, so we decided to ignore Halo Wars altogether regarding the Flood. I'm sorry if that disappoints you, but we feel if we stick to the original canon in Halo 1-3 it will make the mod feel more like the Halo game it's being made for.
As for the Hunters, halo wiki has this to say about them:
"Because of their make-up of several hundred worms instead of being a single large organism, the Lekgolo are one of the only species in the Covenant that cannot be assimilated by the Flood, as their unique physiology does not allow the organism to access a central nervous system or control them to any capacity."
All good mate, thanks for explaining.
Couldn't you make a Flood Tank form? :o that's sort of like the hunter in a way, except sometimes it vomits infection forms lol.
Why not have an Infection Form infect the grunts or jackals to MAKE the carrier forms in the mod? That'd be sticking to the canon all together.
