Firearms: Source is a team based first person shooter, rooted in the traditions of the Firearms mod for Half-Life. Firearms: Source brings the best aspects of Firearms to the Source engine, and then takes them a step further. You'll see a host of familiar weapons and maps, but you'll find the streamlined game play to be faster, focusing on aggressive, skilled play. From nearly the moment you spawn you can expect to be engaged in furious action.

Spyker, you do realise people still use this gun IRL.
Not every PMC can afford the newest gun in the world.
Plus, its a great gun, it kills people and is made out of pipes, I dont object.

"The Sterling submachine gun is a British submachine gun which was in service with the British Army from 1953 until 1988, when it was phased out with the introduction of the L85A1 assault rifle."

-Wikipedia

A) 1988 is well within the chronological setting(s) of FA:S, and piles of C1's (the most modern Sterling) are still stored away in the reserve here in Toronto.

B) The Sterling was a staple weapon of the original Firearms.

C) I'm not even sure how you can say these two clashing forces wouldn't have a Sterling when their origins are deliberately vague so that they can be used in a wider range of combat scenarios. It's quite possible they could be Canadian, British, or Indian forces from 1985 should the level designer want.

However, the AK-47 is TOTALLY MODERN compared to the sterling, because it is in CoD4, while the sterling is not -> Most people's logic out here :D

He isn't being serious, he's just saying some people think they know everything about firearms because they see them in video games (hence the "-> Most people's logic out here :D").

Yeah, even though the AK47 was made in 1947, BEFORE THE STERLING. (AK47 mean Automatic Kalashnikov Model 1947)

The fact that you're still using the word gay as an insult just shows that you're just another immature child. Please move along.

Wait a moment. Firearms 2.0? I thought the next release will be the 1.1 one - I suppose it will take more time to make all the things you plan in 2.0
I want the sterling anyway! :D

As far as I know 2.0 is just what 1.1 would have been, except now on steamworks... unless of course we bring out 1.1 first in order to get the content to you fine people faster, before steamworks integration is finished on our end.

Or read the news post, its why I write em. :p

To sum up, we have more features planned, and we are going to be packing in so much new content, that it is only right to up the versioning.

Looks good. Only gripe is how the hand is positioned. Wouldn't he hold the magwell rather than the magazine itself? Particularly at the end of the magazine.

lol, mabey you could make it like in firearms 1 where you hold it by the mag only as a certain class and then by the bottom of the barrel with any other class.

Does the AS in AS_Greenstone stand for Assault? Or perhaps Awesome ****?

That's not the proper way to hold & fire a sterling / sten type SMG.

The hand should be under the mag well (in front if the pistol grip center to the gun not under were this player is grasping the mag) like with a normal forward grip just with the thumb behind the mag well to help control the guns recoil.

Its not just a matter of preference since this gun has quite a bit of kick & barrel climb when being fired. So the way it is being held now accuracy is more or less thrown out the window.

Moral of the story is that it looks cool but isn't practical nor realistic. In the end I guess it come down to a matter of opinion & preference.
