FFVII: REBIRTH is a free modification for the PSX classic, that seeks to rebalance the game, improve the difficulty level, add new spells and mechanics, and in essence make the game a more engaging, tactical experience. REBIRTH is unlike other modifications of its kind, insofar as it is for the *PSOne* version of the game, though a PC port will follow.

Description

You've waited and waited, so it's high time you got something in return! Here's a patch for the NTSC (American) PSOne version of Final Fantasy VII. The PPF patch, a patcher and full instructions are included in the download. EDIT: The original file had a bug, causing the second random battle to crash. This has been fixed and the file updated. Sorry!

The original file had a bug - the second random battle would crash if Cloud had less than 50% HP.

Redownload the file and repatch the ISO.

I'm really sorry about this.

Another bugfix posted. Again, download the patch and repatch the ISO - whether fresh or already patched. Previous saved games will be compatible.

Hi Yojimbo,
my game is still hanging in the socond battle. the nightwatch makes a strange move and then everybody stands around, while the battle goes on.

I´m using the NTSC ISO, patched it with the newest version (Jan, 2nd).

Any ideas how to solve it?

And thanks a lot for working on this mod.

You should download the latest version of the demo. That will solve your battle woes.

I'm having a problem involving the battle menu when it goes into a battle the entire menu at the bottom is just a black bar with a small blue rectangle visible. I can still use all the commands so it is all working, I just can't see anything very problematic in a mod which is meant to make the game harder I'm sure you will agree. I played through the first battle to see if it was just that but it happened on the second battle as well. A fix would be greatly appreciated as I want to play this really badly.

Thanks for what is looking like a fantastic mod.

Thanks soooo much for this mod! I love FF7 that I'm gonna play in again now! And the fact the mod is on the PSX version instead of the PC one is better, cause playing on PSX is nicer!

pretty awesome so far, not sure about the unequipping of Materia when switching weapons though, seems to me it just creates needless busy work (and not the good kind)

just noticed the Hardedge doesn't have Materia slots (I really need to pay more attention to my actions)
