This mod is a complete overhaul of FOT. Aimed at revising the single player camp. of FOT, to make the game more non-linear and to give the player more choice. This mod is a weapons bonanza, as all of the weapons (one version) from Fallout, and Fallout: 2 will be added. Not including all of the new firearms that the team has already added into the game. The original missions are being modded to allow the player a few different ways to finish the a mission. Every item/weapon/armor is being re-balanced to make each one distinct. Even the sounds are left unchanged as each weapon, will have a distinct set of sounds instead of them all using the same default sounds. The special encounters are being overhauled to make then more useful (particularly the ones without a point). Commodities will reflect in value i.e. a military ration pack will be worth a nice chunk of change. Atmosphere is the key and that is what this mod strives for.

First off, the update on the progress of the maps.
Mission 1, is progressing well though rather slowly. The industrial pre-war area right now sits at about 55% finished.

"Operation Bunker Jack" is also progressing well; you can see the main surface complex beginning to take shape.

Four new (standard) weapon sprites, two of which have upgraded variants which can be seen below.M4A1 Upgraded RifleXCR Rifle Upgraded

Speaking of weapon upgrade the sprites of the parts required to upgrade these weapon have been completed.

Weapon parts for upgrade

These parts and the weapon you wish to upgrade must be taken to a Gunsmith, located in every bunker. Currently, I'm still finishing this part of the weapon upgrade process but I'll post a video of the process after I worked all the kinks out. Also I'm working on a weapons upgrade chart, available to the player via PipBoy similar to the weapon into videos in Doom 3.

Last but not least, you may have noticed that the mod is now being developed by the ZTRU Mod Team. Right now, the team (on Moddb) consists of myself, and a new member to the team TabloMaxos who is working with me to create new player sprites for the mod.

Fantastic stuff. Is the setting more in view with Fallout 1 or the more extravagant Tactics?

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't FOT not have a dialogue engine to speak of? Will you put in your own clever workarounds or will the game lack dialogue skills and choices etc.?

Thanks,
Right, there are zero dialogue choices available in the standard version of FOT. There are several clever workarounds for the dialogue already available. It really depends on how I can work those choices into the story of the mod/game.

the image on the front is misleading; it gives the impression of resident evil

How do you get an image of resident evil more than the image of the Punisher? haha

Yes it is the umbrella symbol, I actually thought this might be like fallout/resident evil...

I would suggest changing the logo to something a bit more original. The logo doesn't compliment your mod.

Sorry, but I do have some reasoning behind it. It's not the symbol for the mod it's the symbol for the mod team, and it is the preview image for this news article because the mod-team recently took over development of this mod. Therefore the image is a fair representation of the latest news for the mod.

I would have to say though, that's one hell of a bad cut 'n paste job for a team logo. Think of something better to use. Its like saying Limbo of the Lost is pardoned from using screenshots of various games and consider it assets for there commercial product.

Using other logos for your own logo isn't a way to create an image of your team. When I see those things, I see Resident Evil and Punisher, and not your mod team. Wrong message me thinks.

I have to agree, It may only seem simple, but if you want to show people that you're serious about what you're making, then be serious about everything, not just screenshots.

There is denial and there is acceptance.
This is one of those times where you have to accept that there are 3 people who immediately recognized both symbols used in the advertising logo, and all 3 of us know that it is not right to do that.
I say this in the nicest way possible.
Take it on the chin, and learn from it :)
If you feel that it is necessary to give reason behind something that clearly would not be justified without reason, then so be it, it'll be your loss from your ignorance, however accepting that there is a problem and resolving that problem shows professionalism, and showing professionalism gains respect, gaining respect gains reputation, and gaining reputation gains publicity, the more publicity you have, the more your team will want to work, the more they want to work, the more work gets done, the more work that is done, the faster your mod grows, the faster your mod grows and the more work that is done, the happier your team will be, and the happier the public will be and so on....

See where i'm going there ;)

I'm not having a go at you or anything, it's just advice.

Alright, I won't get bent of shape over the logo. I'll come up with something different and unique.
Thanks for the feedback and the advice from all.

No worries VengfulSniper, good to see some professionalism ;)

It was only a small thing, and I may have been a bit excessive with advice, but if it helps other modders do great things, then i'm all for helping :)
Good to see you changed the logo anyway.

Keep up the good work on the mod, I would definately like to see this one come through.
