Hi, this is the first development diary of Crumbled Europa, a Hearts of Iron IV mod that takes place in 1947 where World War II came out not as an Allied victory, nor as an Axis victory, but as a Stalemate between the two. This project came from days of research with my friend that is equally as nerdy as me, I came to him with the idea in early June after I had watched The Man in the High Castle and played a lot of TNO (Another mod for HOI4 that is honestly a masterpiece.), after my binging of both I wanted to make a mod based on the idea of a Post-WW2 scenario that wasn’t an Axis Victory, the first person I discussed my itch to make a mod was, the friend I mentioned before, we came up with two ideas; July 20th Plot Success, and the Stalemate option. By the fact you’re reading this, you can probably guess which I chose to make a mod out of, now that the backstory is out of the way…
We can get into the actual lore of the mod that took longer than I'd like to admit to form with my friend;

*1937 - Alan Turing is found to be a homosexual after suspicions with a colleague.
1940 - Germany’s Luftwaffe focuses its attacks on RAF bases and mining rigs near the English Channel despite the air raids on Berlin by the British, crippling the British’s air superiority in the channel. With the RAF crippled and air superiority in the English Channel secured, Germany could proceed to plan their operation on the coast of England, codenamed Operation Sea Lion. Meanwhile, in the Atlantic, the United States sent out supply packages to Britain, weapons, food, etc, but every supply route is impeded by German U-Boats, sinkings ships, and even civilian ones like cruises, after everything that happened, the UK was on its knees, no air force to combat the German Luftwaffe, causing George VI, the monarch of Britain at the time, to personally surrender, signing the Treaty of Paris. [*Alan Turing commits suicide in his detainment house after the treaty.] Without the need of commencing Operation Sea Lion, Germany can save up its troops for Operation Barbarossa, a full-scale invasion of the Soviet Union. In mid-November of 1940, Hitler orders the construction of the Atlantikwall, a massive mega-project to build an impenetrable fortress along the Atlantic coast of France, the English Channel, and the Mediterranian as a contingency for if Britain or even worse, if the US were to declare war and invade through France or the Mediterranian. The project is set to conclude in 1944.
1941 - Germany creates the “Ressourcenroute”, a naval trade route for itself and its allies, without UK naval blockades the passage of resources is easier, causing the German stockpile to increase a huge amount, with the new stockpile of oil, weaponry, steel, and other resources, the invasion is ready. On April 9th, 1941, 4.9 million German infantry personnel line up on the Soviet border, accompanied by an arsenal of tanks, artillery, and air support. On April 29th of the same year, Germany declares war on the Soviet Union and pushes through faster than ever before, encircling enormous amounts of Soviet infantry, the offensive continues until December when winter started to kick in forcing the German army to dig in for the winter.
1942 - In January, the Soviet Union orders a counteroffensive toward the front, pushing back the Germans considerably, in March of the same year Germany is pushed back from Moscow slowly, eight months later Germany and the Soviets reach a stalemate with the offensive line unmoving. The line doesn’t move for days, Hitler, worried about a counteroffensive with how long the line has been at a status quo, in early December Hitler orders the Ostmauer to be constructed with the use of Soviet Ethnic and Jewish slave labor to accelerate the progress of the project. The Ostmauer extends from the Baltics to Western Ukraine using the same design structure as the Atlantikwall.
1943 - 16th of October, the Ostmauer is completed after hundreds of thousands of ethnic deaths during production, 16 days later the Soviets start their counteroffensive, and take 3 months to reach the Ostmauer and are unable to penetrate the wall, starting the second stalemate on the front. In early December Japan declares war on the United States, forcing the US to declare war on Japan, Germany also declares war on the United States.
1944-Mid 1946 - The Atlantik wall proves worthy of defending against American forces coming in from the English coast. The status quo in the eastern front remains with no improvements from either side.
Late 1946 - After no breakthroughs in the western front by the US or UK’s remaining forces and the fact that the eastern front hasn't moved for years, the Soviet Union agrees on the Treaty of Kyiv with the following terms:
1: Germany dismantles the Ostmauer.
2: Germany declares the two Reichskomissariats of Ostland and Ukraine.
3: Finland’s old territories are gained back.
4: The Atlantikwall is partially dismantled and turned into a “mega-port” for access to mainland Europe administered by the French State.
5: The Atlantic-Pact is formed consisting of the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Brazil, British Raj, and Ireland.
6: No country that signs this treaty can declare war on any fellow country that signs this treaty.
Anything that happens post-1947 is decided on by the player.
