Eve of Destruction is a free modification of the popular Battlefield BF:Vietnam game by DICE/EA, based on the Vietnam war.
No other military conflict is comparable to those dramatic years of the 20th century. Most rumors spread about the Indochaina and Vietnam War are not honest, even though it was the best documented war in history. No other military conflict was ever so controversial, pointing to an unloved fact: our enemy was not the only source of evil, the evil could be found within ourselves. The "Eve Of Destruction" mod is a tribute to the U.S. , ARVN and Vietcong/NVA soldiers who fought and died in Vietnam, and also to the Vietnamese people.
Eve of Destruction is available for Battlefield 1942, Battlefield:Vietnam and Battlefield-2.

Eve of Destruction (BF:V) has released a small HOTFIX for client PC and servers to enable internet online games. It's required to install this patch if you want to play online !Client PC: just install the small patch. It will add some files to your v0.16 or v0.17 installation and upgrade to v0.20.Server admins: unpack the ZIP file to your v0.16 or v0.17 installation (replace all existing files) !

Don't get me wrong, I'm just wondering if anyone still plays BF:Vietnam...

of course we still play bfv!!! still one of the best oldschool classic and very few games about vietnam! o by the way no flaming from me!!!

I used to play this mod a lot (as in all day everyday). I LOVE battlefield vietnam and with the iron sites in this mod, it is one of the best games ever.
That was back before I new about moddb (I got the mod off of file front) and I just assumed that it was an old mod and that there was no new work being done on it. It is really cool to see that it is here on moddb, and that it is still active after all this time.
I don't remember what version I was playing before, but I remember that the one problem with it was that they parachutes didn't work when playing in this mod. Has that problem ever been fixed?

At least he was smart enough to see that the mod is not dead. Next time read at least SOME of the text on these pages, might just help a little.
It's basically dead playerwise.
The devs are still working on it for some reason, even though no one is playing it.
so they should just leave it?? mongol. plus it still has bots which is actually fairly fun to still play
