Story
It started as just a small news story "the dead walk?" but quickly became the only thing people could think off. "The dead walk!" You never knew how or why it happened but it did. The dead came back to life and started feasting on the living. You were able to lock yourself in your apartment and watched the news and heard the sounds of gunfire and screams outside but now there is nothing but static on the tv and quite though you can now hear the moans of the dead outside. Noone is coming to save you. Your trusty axe in one hand you must make your own way out and excape from the city of the dead. about
About
Escape from the City of the Dead is a first-person-shooter using the quake2 engine. It is an independently developed game made by one person with help from others on the net. The game features 12 zombie filled levels and 3 weapons to help you fight on your way out of the city. In accordance with the GPL the source for the game is also available.
Even though i planned it as a game it can also be viewed as a standalone mod for quake 2.

Yeah its very repetitive. Same textures, level design, animations and so on. Seemed like an awsome mod, but it gets old really fast. It should have been multiplayer too. Is there going to be another version?
Yep, the download is fixed. It runs now. Played through it. It was okay, but looks pretty newbie-ish. Shows potential though and was worth my time.
try again, is it fixed now?
When I try to run eftcotd.exe I get this error message:
"Couldn't load pics/16to8.pcx"
And indeed, there is no file with that name in the pics directory.
