Escape from Lambda 4 puts you into the boots of Kaleb Alder, security advisor for a company which runs outposts on several different planets. One day the connection to one of those outposts on a planet called Lambda 4 gets lost and they're sending you in to investigate the issue. The mod for Half-Life is singleplayer only and features several different sites of the outpost (such as a power plant, lab area, storage unit and so on) as well as travel between them on foot or with different vehicles. Gameplay is a mixture between 3rd person combat and puzzles, where you have to think of solutions to overcome obstacles in your way. Escape from Lambda 4 features a unique 3rd person perspective and a gritty Scifi setting inspired by games like Shadowgrounds and Alien Swarm.
We proudly present to you our progress since the last update. You can see the updated laser pointer visuals, 3rd person reload animations, a new weapon, a new outdoor environment and a sneak peek at an entirely new game mechanic.
I like how the ceiling snaps back when you leave the building, very neat detail!
Yes so it looks better when the player is on the outside. We're planning a smooth transition from transparent to solid in the future though.
That would be even better! Good luck :)
I would recommend doing a closer over the shoulder camera for this, when it's so high up it makes it look like the player is facing down.
Yeah that sounds cool! We're already experimenting with different camera distances and are planning a button to switch seamlessly between them. :)
