Description
So I finally decided to include the Venator in the mod, even though I had planned not to. I have no idea how I want to use it though, except for one thing: It wont be an imperial ship, they already have enough ships and certainly don't need another one.
Feel free to give suggestions in the comments below, I might pick one and implement it.

See that never made sense to me the stats and the wiki state that the venators firepower was on par and even better then the imperial star destroyer
Then you're completely misreading it. It says the 8 heavy dual turbos are close to the power of the ISDs main batteries, the ISD had a lot more weapons though, and it could easily take on two or more venators.
One yes two I don't know when the venators activate their power to weapons which they really did use its even in the tv series. They can drop the shields really fast as it makes their weapons almost double in power and fire very fast. A imperial destroyer won't be able to handle that fire power they had that beam from the artillery platforms installed later in the war also imperials may be a bit more powerful. But venators have a lot more going for them then the imperial ships do also fantastic model very high quality. Ps the later mark 2 imperial star destroyers I will agree can mop the floor with a venator but not a mark 1

Venators also had vast amount of space for ground units inside and the ability to open their hangar bay and let them help. All those SPHA-Ts firing turbolasers directly on an enemy ship provided a great supplement of fire-power.
With all it's abilities, Venator dominates over ISD Mk I without breaking a sweat, but ISD Mk II is something (a lot!) more powerful.
think the engine is not capable of bearing such amount of beauty...
just one thing - the side turret is sort of...lonely there. It´s like: "Suddenly a wild turret appears!" :D

Maybe a light carrier? Its not as well armed as most ships from that era, but is stronger in numbers than a stand up fight.
that is not true the venators main guns were much more powerful then that of the imperial star destroyers the imperial ones had more guns but the ventator had more powerful main weapons

as its weapons became less relevant, its carrying capacity would remain effective still?

the Venator was canonically produced by Kuat Ship Yards right?... you could make it so that its only buildable on kuat, and the owning faction could have an upgrade on other starbases to allow other planets to requesition them... and if you lost kuat you'd lose your rights to buy them...
could it just be a cheaper alternative to a SDD, or carrier type ship?

Hy...Beautifull work man,just Beautifull...Say,what about making 3 version of this Babe?...1 for the Empire for low tech=less dmg,shieldpoints,weaker spec powers and a weaker SPHA-T..cuz i think a Venator is a Must for a low end Imperial fleet..i think

but what i want to say is...the Empire must get the Venator...originaly twas an Imperial ship..it would be a shame to see a low end Imperial fleet without a Venator...BTW everyone likes the Venator,and my guess is that everyone want this babe in their fleet..no mater if the fleet is Imperial,pirate..or rebel,and every faction have the means to get this ship...Thx for reading

My suggestion: FOr Rebel Alliance, as a starship that capable to fight against an ISD1 with 2 Venators before MC Cruisers come out.Carries 6 Squadrons since it served as a carrier in the past and the Rebels doctrine of starfighters.Ability: SPHA-T,Secondary Shield
For Zann Consortium,Same role as above but remove SPHA-T and Proton Torpedo Tubes due to high maintenance cost. Carries 3 Squadrons.Ability: Assualt
For Imperials,it can be used to fill the gap between Victory and ISD, weaker shield and carries 5 squadrons. Ability:Fire for Maximum effect, SPHA-T.
Canonically, The victory was built to replace the venerable Venator, as it was cheaper and retained a heavy armament.
My suggestion will be split into two comments:
A little history before I give my suggestion:
"After the end of the Clone Wars, many Republic Venators were abandoned and left to drift in space. Several of these vessels fell into the hands of the Mandalorians, the Zann Consortium, and various pirate groups. By this time, the vessel was considered obsolete, but Venators were available for purchase from several merchants who gained the ships after the Empire sold many of them as scrap metal. This led to even more fringe groups obtaining Venators, as well as several Imperial Moffs, who used them in their private defense fleets, and for their various militias.
The Imperial Navy used several Venators as flight schools for military pilots, alongside several Imperial-class Star Destroyers and captured Lucrehulk-class battleships. The Vensenor was a notable vessel that served in this role. Imperial Venators were also used as part of the security cordon for the Sanctuary Pipeline to the Endor system during the construction of the Death Star II.
At least one Venator served in Admiral Daala's Maw Irregular Fleet in 40 ABY to 44 ABY. At least two were used in the Evacuation of Dac in 137 ABY."

Suggestion:
1. Give the ability to build Venators to those factions mentioned in the history, namely the Mandalorians, Zahn Consortium, and indigenous planetary fleets.
2. When a main faction conquerors one of the planets owned by a lesser faction known to have had access to Venators, such as Endor, Mandalor, or Kuat (where they were originally built), then the main faction is given the ability to build them.
3. Variety: Some of the Venators were equipped with a SPHA turbolaser cannon, while some were not. Though study of the wiki article, you could determine which planet would offer the SPHA version, and which would offer the regular version. For the Zahn Consortium, you could replace some of the turbolasers with mass driver cannons, -etc.
4. Moffs. In the EAW campaign (playing as the Empire), there is a Rogue Moff who is helping the Alliance. It would be nice to recode the man in, and give him an upgraded Venator equipped with a SPHA turbolaser cannon, and two abilities: the ability to fire the SPHA in same way in which Admiral Piett fires his proton beam, and the massive fire ability that Admiral Thrawn has. Code the Moff as a hero who can only be obtained once the Rebellion liberates the planet which he is over.
5. Give the Venators the specs which they are listed as having. I am tired of destroying little Venators with only six weapon hard points an engine, and a shield generator. Make these ships worthy of those excellent graphics.
These are my suggestions, for what they are worth.
Sadly the SPHAT wont be included, for technical difficulties, but a lot of what you're saying does make sense, it has the assault ability, and I will probably make them buildable on certain planets.
Completely agree with the Zann Consortium venator comment, they're USELESS... I bought one thinking "OOH venators, those have some firepower..." but NO -_-

Use it as rebel and pirate/Zann ship,
Rebels: Refitting old era ships for their cause, few clone era ships were used by the rebels.
Pirate: Re-using old era ships for escort their values | Carrier for their "uglies" and starfighters..
