You are Emma, daughter of esteemed scientist, Dr. Robert Coleman. Ever since his discovery of the mythical Orb of Power, he has vanished, leaving you alone in the family estate. With strange things happening, you wonder what has happened to him. The story begins as you wake up in your room to find an ominous note from your lover. As you play, you will unravel Emma's Story.
10/10 fantastic custom game. the attention to detail makes for an immerse experience. Minor bugs aside, it was a lot of fun. though the best part is the "scares" dont always occur when u think they will (ie: opening a door, picking up a key). Thus it keeps you on edge.
Amazing! The story was great! Fun and scary, good puzzles, had be ******** bricks a good few times. The mapping seemed a little rough around the edges, but its understandable with the size of the story. Thanks for creating this, it was a great experience!
This story is very overrated in its current state. 9.2, really, what the hell?
I thought it was actually quite average, nothing special really that would deserve such a high rating. Too many visual bugs and other disappointments, and it didn't even have a creative or unique story, as most of it was simply copied from the main game.
Putting aside the immense work that I saw on the game, there were some glitches that made the game easily that it was intended. You start the map with the items that you need to pass the puzzle. Tinderboxes and items were duplicating all the time. I finished the game with almost 45 tinderboxes. The scary parts were good and original, in the other hand some were predictable, at least for me. Despite the scenario bugs, the game it was good with a well make scripting. I recognize the hard work, because I am feeling on the skin that is tough to make a long and good game.
Puzzles: I felt like the puzzles were lacking. I was never stumped, and it seemed like I always knew what to do. I would recommend adding more difficult and unique puzzles to Emma's Story PT. II.
Pace: The game had really good pacing until the very end. It kind of felt like a high school paper in which you spent tons of pages building up to something, but then realized it's due tomorrow and you finished the story in two paragraphs. I was pretty disappointed with the ending, and feel like there could have been more time spent on it.
Audio: The custom story features amazing audio tracks that are completely different from the original Amnesia. They really help you indulge yourself in the environment.
Enemies: Focusing more on the statues than the normal Amnesia monsters was a nice change. A lot of people are afraid of manikins and statues, and this custom story does a great job of toying with those fears. This is an especially good change for experienced Amnesia players that are no longer afraid of the average Amnesia grunt and simply throw stuff at it and run past it. The statues really felt like they were closing in on you and you were losing your mind.
Scares: The game features a good mix of suspense and jump scares. While jump scares are usually a negative point in my book, I feel like this custom story handled them well and didn't just throw them at you at random points like a lot of other games/custom stories.
Over-all a great custom story, I wish it was longer and didn't end so abruptly. I am looking forward to playing PT. II if it's ever released.
Nice and fun mod. There are 2 things I just love about this mod; 1. is that you use female protagonist with voices, which is just very nice, 2. is the awesome use of the armors, reminds me of Doctor Who :).
Didn't like the ending thou, looked like a bad end, but I guess its just a cliffhanger to part 2.
