I am glad with all of these hard points it will be much harder for fighter swarms to quickly take down star destroyers!

Tino1148,

That was one of the main goals of this change, the T-9625AA Tri-Laser Cannon batteries work great against starfighters.

man the modo is looking great!

If I might ask, what are the difference between the quad lasers and the tri-lase ones?

as for balance this looks like a prime target to swarms zerg rushes of bombers

Some_other_guy,

Thank you! The Quadlasers are one of the hardest hitting weapons in the Imperial Navy. They work great against Corvettes, Frigates, Capitals, etc. But they are almost too large and slow to accurately fire at Starfighters.

The Tri-Lasers in contrast are great at quickly locating and destroying Starfighters, but their firepower isn't nearly as devastating as the Quadlasers.

Lastly, the XX-9s are essentially "general purpose" turbolaser cannons.

Hope this answered your question! :)

{HEROIC}Elite

P.S. You may be onto something with those zerg bombers.. I'm thinking you should target the Tri-Lasers and then swarm the larger Quads so that your capital ships can take down the rest.. what do you think?

sounds like fun, it also captured my attention something, the star destroyer has twin shield generators now that seems good but it makes me wonder what shielding does the Rebel Alliance has.

man this is probably my favorite mod for EaW on this site

Some_other_guy,

I've very happy to hear that, thank you so much. Please let us know whenever you are happy with us, it is what drives this team!

That is true, on the MC80 Liberty-class Star Cruiser specifically, there is not a shield hardpoint. This is for three reasons...

1. It balances the higher shield capacity and double shield hardpoints of the Imperial I-class Star Destroyer.

2. It allows the MC80 Liberty-class to use it's Defend ability, as long as it has at least 1 point of shielding, until the vessel is destroyed. This is another balance between the Firepower ability of the Imperial I-class SD.

3. It is actually EU cannon that the MC80 Liberty-class shield's were not destroyable until the entire ship was destroyed. This is because every MC80 was built uniquely and the shielding units were never in the same internal location.

If you would like me to compare to any other ships please let me know, I hope this helped!

I thought it was due to the shield generators were internal?

pincuishin,

That is also a factor. That combined with every ship's internal design being unique.

Now THAT is a TRUE ISD. The Star Destroyers were FEARED by those they fought for a reason after all.

Didn't the Imperial I class have three triple heavy Ion cannons mounted in a line just in front of that hanger hard point in the picture? Or is that a different model I'm thinking of?

May I suggest adding an additional shield generator to the hemisphere underneath and two more engines hardpoints for the three engines?

Hmm. Wasnt the Ball down there a part of the reactor ?
But adding more engines would make sense :)

Yes. The pimple on the bottom of the star destroyer is the oversized reactor and most sources show it to be just that as well. There are a few instances such as in rouge squadron 3 where the reactor bulge was treated like a shield generator.

Any chance you guys could change the UI for those hard points? I've never been a fan of the vanilla stuff with all its circles and spots.

It has the wrong bridge. ISD-1 had X-like bridge structure.
