ESF is a fast paced, 3rd person fighter based on the hit anime, Dragonball Z. Select your favorite character and fly, power up, transform, melee, and beam your enemies into pulp. Each character is given signature moves and abilities to compliment different style of play. Some are stronger in hand to hand combat, others are better with energy attacks. Play in three different game modes, deathmatch, team deathmatch, and capture the dragonballs. There is a learning curve so newbies beware. This is not your normal Half-life mod.

Description
This is the final Open Beta Release that will be published to the public. (THIS IS NOT THE FINAL V1.3 RELEASE!) This simple means that the public Open Beta is over. We will of course keep working on the mod until a final ESF version has been released! If you have been checking out the news lately on either moddb.com or esforces.com, you should have noticed that we have added a new news every day on the front page for 9 days long. With features and changes that will be within the Open Beta Final.
This update will be the final version of the Open Beta. This update will feature all 11 characters, and new attacks.
Some of the new attacks and features that will be included in this update are:

Body Swap
Charge Swoop
Beam Heads
Shadows
New Stoop Button
Melee
Kame Torpedos

Hi all i have poroblem when i start play i have this error

Yeah, I have the problem too. And With the HUD..It gets all...Unseeable.
Make sure you use STEAM & Half-Life 1. Secondly, make sure you don't spawn any bots.. BOTS ARE BUGGED with current version. and make sure you get the right powerlevel when attempting to transform!
And ciarkol17, this is the final open beta.. not the release of the full version.
is it possible to play without steam but with Half Life 1? cuz i have Half-Life 1 on a disc, not downloaded from Steam. and steam doesnt recognize it for some reason...
yes i'm use steam and oryginal HL1 but how will play if bots are bugged i have 1.000.000 KI in gohan and nothing chainge
Gohan's Trans PL has changed to make it balanced. I believe it is now something like 1.300.000
Or I believe it was 1.400.000 or 1.500.000

It's not so good, you removed the whole arrow melee system which was kinda fair and awesome. Some minor bugs but well it's a beta, hopefully the full release will have all of these fixed.
I appreciate the work and efforts you've put in this. :)
Also one more thing, one of the video's showed the feature of ECX(Evolution Class X) where you can push your enemy away(holding E+left mouse click) but this doesn't work in ESF 1.3. :S

You can't just download the Steam version, first you must buy the game. You can do it via Steam at www.steampowered.com

You still need a valid Serial Key for Half-Life 1.

Hey I've got a problem.
I don't know how to evolve with any character! Could someone help me?
You have to get your character's power level up by attacking the other players. Then when it's high enough, hit the Z key (or whatever you assigned yours to).

en rosario esta muntijuegos hay un civer donde tiene al Earth Special Forces.hay un emplado llamado jorge que se sa ve todas las tecnicas,los combos y los trucos.
em i want to know the full realse will have the melee arrow system? because i like it i know some combos and those things and also can you add more combos? if you are going to put the arrows thnks

all i hope is that in the next full esf1.3 there won't be bugs with bots and bugs with transformations

the transformation levels (i mean the transformations that are here now) i think that they should be enough for a normal esf without addons

Can i play this mod without steam?, thas one is a obligatory requirement?
The Steam version is required... if you have a legal copy just type your serial number into Steam and it will download it :)

me instale el esf( tardo mas o menos 3 horas) y despues me puso que un archivo no era compatible
entonces me lo desintale y lo volvi a intalar pero tardo 2 horas
pd: el quelo puso es un pendejo de la choncha de su madre(puto de mierda)

Hey im so happy there are actually some people around dedicated enough to DBZ/ESF to work on a game. Love your work.
Yeah couple of annoying bugs with the melee system with this beta, like after getting swooped/melee (can't tell the difference) my character just gets stuck and is unmovable so i have to type kill in console to respawn. Also there doesn't seem to be much difference in the bot skill level, ie i cant do shit unless i put them on idle and they do nothing while i hammer them at skill level "bad". Im a big fan of the power struggle aspect of this game with beams and energy balls and such. Keep it up to make a flawless DBZ game ive been dreaming of.

No, it isn't possible to play without steam. It may be possible to run this version of Esf on a non-steam version of half life.
