Dynamic Campaign Generator (DCG) is a mod for the game "Men of War" and some of its successors that randomly generates skirmish missions and lets you keep your surviving forces from one battle to another. Some people find this mod tricky to install the first time - please read the readme.txt carefully and ask for help (if you need it) on our forums here on this site, or at the game developer's site.

Hi,

I have some severe problems using tank guns and some captured AT guns also. When I'm engaging the enemy using a tank, usually the main gun should also firing it's shells, depending if it is a soft or hard target. Moving the cursor over an enemy unit should show a reloading icon, but it doesn't. The tank carries 37mm AP and HE ammo f. e., which should be displayed in the reloading window, where you can change the type of ammunition. But this window is empty, and it seems the tank ran out of ammo. It's inventory shows the appropiate ammo anyway. Only the light weapons onboard like machine guns are working.

Using some captured AT guns is making the same result, firing is not possible, although ammo is available.

Does anyone has an idea what the reason for this strange behaviour could be?

Thanks a lot for your assistance!

Please report whch tanks/at guns that are affected and if you are playing MoW or Assault Squad 2. Sorry for late reply, being very busy with nonDCG related stuff these days.

Here is one vehicle that doesn't fire with supplied load. Centurion Mark II, if I take the load from the Firefly and transfer to the Centurion it will fire. The artwork between the two sets of loads gives a clue that the Centurion load will not work. The Centurion loadout has a more general almost cartoonish look, while the firefly has a more realistic depiction of it's heavy cannon load out.

I am in the Korean War campaign British vs Koreans using MoW

Hope this helps

Thats simply due to the fact that I didnt change the ,def file for the Centurion. I never play the Korean war scenario myself (Im a ww2 nut) and since the Centurion didnt see service during ww2, I never bothered to change the loudout etc.

If you know how open the .def files with notepad, it is an easy fix. Just copy the line with the gun info from the Firefly, and paste it over the gun info in the Centurion .def file. Then do the same with the vehicles ammo loudout.

If you feel that you arent up to the task, let me know I will upload a fix for the Centurion later, I guess that you are playing the MoW version of DCG and not AS2 (I dont play AS2)?

That did the trick, modifying the def files corrected the problem, thanks

Now the next reloading problem is in MOW and has to do with a howitzer

Artillery GPF

155 Howitzer

What is the proper ammo for this gun? The one in the def file doesn't load or fire?

You can tell there will be a problem because the ammo is rendered in a somewhat cartoonish fashion instead of the life like version of the rest of the game.

Thanks

I'm at work right now, but I'll check it when I comes home later. Just to be sure, you are refering MoW, not.AS2, right?

Seems like I missed to add the updated file for this cannon when I made the new shells etc. Open up the .def file for the cannon, and change the lines to look like they do below:

{Weaponry
{place "gun"
{weapon "155mm_gpf" filling "bullet155us0 fg" 1}
{Rotate}
("abm_howitzer")
}
}

This should fix it, if it doesnt, please report back.

thanks

I also changed the shell type in extender "inventory"

any idea about the appearance of "my term" zombie enemy soldiers when restoring a backed up game. See other thread detailing zombie soldiers, these soldiers are either dead "non-reactive" but appearing a live to program. They appear red on the maps along with live enemy soldiers, they are just non-reactive. It is problematic see other thread for more info.

Thanks

Mike

I have another ammo question. What is the proper ammo for the 122 main gun in an IS 3? Playing the hypothetical Berlin blockade campaign in MOW

Thanks

Jul 29 2017 Anchor

The IS3 used the same D-25 main gun as the IS2.
