Endlessly roaming through the Space, an alien fleet is closing to a blue planet. Its inhabitants, blissfully unaware of the upcoming threat, are struggling with the chaos they have to face everyday. And yet, it will all soon change. The world will finally become united against a common enemy. The Earth will never be the same anymore. But what will this war bring? Do the humans stand any chance against such a foe? Will everyone willingly join to fight the alien thread? And why, do the aliens seem to look so human-like?...

0 comments by mevitar on Jan 1st, 2015

This update is a late update that was supposed to come in December, but i couldn't get done in time. This makes it the first update for 2015. This one comes with few new Paladin units.

Paladin Sudis and Paladin Fulgur

Paladin Ensis and Paladin Itineris

Paladin Lupus

There's also a short background story available here.

Unfortunately, screenshots and text don't really tell much about how units work in practice. So, here's an ingame footage of few Paladins being discovered nearby a city, and what happens after (using, at least for the time being, OmegaBolt's temperate terrain, which is available here).

That's all for this year's first news update. Have a happy new year!

Thank you. But as you can see, it didn't help. :P
(not that i blame anyone, though; I just don't have time for any promotion, i'm still busy working on new units, and... this mod is simply not popular in the first place :P )

Who knows, maybe next year. :P

Just out of curiosity, are you still coding in NPatch? Because personally I think that ares would be so much better (also I hate the whirring noises of the stupid CD... and I hate having to use a No-Cd crack)

So Mev:
The Vintarid are more focused towards assault, particularly in Air power
Essence is a turtler with strong armour and slow units
and Paladin are manipulative and more adaptable
Is that a close statement

Essence is very defensive and slow, has good armor and very good expansion capabilities, able to fortify themselves anywhere they go. They are also the best infantry spammers.

Vintarids are very aggressive, strongly focusing on air force, and they can easily make their units instanly appear anywhere on the map. The most important thing, though, is that they need to attack in order to get resources (their "harvester" isn't really the most efficient), and can take over enemy units.

Paladins focus mostly on what i call "keeping the enemies at bay for as long as possible". They shouldn't attack directly due to their little numbers and high costs, they need to use support powers or special abilities their units have to even the odds (easy, since many of them are area effects).

So Paladins are the Subversive with units that focus on long Ranger and are also "Spell Casters" in it's ranks. Is that correct?

More like a Subversive Powerhouse, and not really long range.

However, you shouldn't put much attention into it, as I don't really follow anything like that. :P
