Divide et Impera is a total overhaul of Rome 2 that seeks to provide a challenging, historically accurate, realistic experience of the ancient world and warfare.
Adds a shot of reality to the sick and ailing combat of Rome 2. If you were initially turned off by Rome 2's absurdly fast battles, and nonsensical battle tactics, then this mod has got you covered. Moral and exhaustion are now something that is more than an afterthought, the campaign dynamics seem to add more depth, and the units even have their proper names.
All in all, keep up the good work.
Definitely a great mod. Unit detail is high, there's plenty of new features (like reforms). It's pretty simple to say that this is the Europa Barbarorum of Rome II (although it has faster battles than EB II, fortunately).
The only downside is that map icons aren't changed, as far as I can see. Although I'm not aware if it's possible to do so. Another problem is that Germans and Gauls aren't differentiated more in terms of buildings, however I'm not sure if that's possible either.
I love it when modders use the unit's real name not just a repetitive "noble cav, noble swordsmen, etc." and just adding the faction's name in front. And the battle length times are realistic unlike vanilla that makes an elite unit just mow a cheap unit like a lawnmower on a grass. This brings out the tactics over arcade.
BUG: Garrison units can beat any attacking unit even elite ones! Pls fix as it degrades the whole campaign, maybe because of the towers doing the killing and the long battle. Like Custodes Praetorii cannot beat cheap briton units in land battle as well as Spartan heroes can't beat Hoplites.
