The ISIL is trying to break through the internal security front in Iraq and possibly trying to wrestle some of Syria's and Iraq's provinces from its rightful owners apparently trying to create a new state if you believe in the Western military intelligence sources.

Personally a state like this just cannot support itself, there is no real administrative structure support let alone things like hospital care planned. The ISIL evolved to be a noticeable threat to state stability in that region, suprassing other terrorist organisations in being able to severely push back the new government Iraqi Army. There is just too much negative emotions and bad interpretation present in that conflict or war, whatever you would name or call it.

I know you ain't asking me but it is always good to hear the military POV on such matters.

If ISIL has no real administrative structure then it will dissolve by it self there is a difference between unknown structure and no structure at all.
when u say terrorist organisation...i ask u according to whom...then u say to the GOV of that region...i say no u mean to USA gov which they dont care about citizens of other country

The rightful owners of the land as u say in this scenario cant protect them self or stand against the oppressors.
and what their GOV do,one killing them indiscriminately and the other makes deals with countries that destroyed their homes and killed their childrens -from Iraqi and syrian citizen point of view-.
and USA says this one is a gov and this one is a terrorist...hip hip hurrah
every one will say the other side is the boggy man to make people join them and to justify their actions without considering their affiliations to sunni or shia which make it easier to pick side.
the truth that there will be always black sheep's in both sides u cant control that in war the only thing is true in war is death and a great unjustified wrong done to syrian citizens.
if you want the military POV then i say they r winning because they r pushing Syrian gov back and it may change very fast.

Dont listen to the media because their job to u tell lies :\

"Divide et Impera" doctrine is working quite well in that part of the World for a very long time.

Honestly, nobody ever cared much about civilian deaths or casualties the point is to keep things under the control. Which in fact, makes the whole region in kind a state of a permanent war. For some reasons I doubt that it is all going all well on the OFPOR side of the Syrian Civil War, the rebellion might be pushing back the govt forces but it has a lot of problems with self-sustaintment.

The World's powers will have a lot of issues if any of the rebellions suceed. I doubt Bashar will go away or will the people's voice will be heard. Eventually the US might go all Code Foxtrot and just bomb the remains thus hiding all that changes, the tragedy.

I never had any serious knowledge about the politics there, most of the older generation analysts like Doctor Friedmann never really understood the purpose and the motivation of groups like AQ. At the least we can be almost sure that everyone in the government on the Western side of the World wants them to die.

The media propaganda messages kind of remind me of the stories from Korea about the problems of internal security somewhat results in the AQ becoming a byword of an umbrella term for everything bad that want's to destroy our freedom or life.

Divide and rule works every where and by different names and it is working ,because if the people preoccupy them self with the tiniest details then they will not see the the bigger picture.

To World's powers ,it is important to seen in control or seen as "we are best behave" which they are not.
as for Code Foxtrot ,it will come but not from USA which is going to make things worse for them. the only thing that will make USA take an aggressive action only if the security of Israel is threaten like what happen in Iraq.

self-sustaintment in syria is irrelevant now because when ur house is being bomb and ur family is being killed then u will not think about education or having a loan for ur car.

u dont need to have serious knowledge about the politics of the govs here, it is very simple because they all follow the golden role to role which is "how u could serve USA" or in some cases RU. as for AQ they dont follow it so they will burn for it and some of them deserve it but not as whole not by along shot. their purpose is simple to fight the unjustified actions that had been done to the Muslims in these regions ,what u dont fully understand is why they continue to fight where is no hope.

the only thing that will serve us as Muslims if we all stand as one ,but it will not happen not because some superpower country demands it , it only because we have a sickness in our self.

we have the tools to make it happen but we r short of workers to use it :|

ISIS is aiming to establish a state which fully adheres to the correct and true form of Sharia law. Their leader Abu bakr al-Baghdadi fills many if not all requirements for being a caliph so the ISIS could potentially even restore the caliphate.

Personally after making research I switched my support from Assad to the ISIS.
